No DeMarco Murray changed everything for OU that day.
both teams having potent offenses (the Gators had averaged over 45 points per game, while the Sooners averaged 54 points per game), neither team scored in the first quarter..QBs Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford combined for four interceptions despite throwing for just eight combined over the course of the regular season.. Gators stopped two Sooners possessions that were inside the five-yard line: a stop on fourth and goal on the one-yard line in the second quarter, and an interception of Bradford's pass at Florida's three-yard line with 6 seconds to play in the first half. Thats called DEFENSE.. coming off an ankle injury and declaring himself at "90%", Percy Harvin had nine carries for 122 yards and a touchdown and five receptions for 49 yards. The injury was reported as a high ankle sprain, but Harvin later stated that it was in fact a hairline fracture...Jimmy Stevens' 49-yard field goal attempt for the Sooners was blocked in the third quarter... imagine that more defense..

Im just saying that your offense can be stopped by a good defense and if Uga shows up with their A Defense they could win.. I think it will be a close game

This isn’t the 2008 offense, and they said the same thing about Auburn, Ohio State, and TCU. Not saying Georgia can’t beat us. Not saying that at all. Georgia is a very good team and their defense is certainly their strength. All I’m saying is we’ve faced some great defense in the last year and none of them have been able to stop Riley and Mayfield. I’d say we’ve seen a lot more defense closer to the caliber of Georgia’s than they’ve seen offense nearly the caliber of Oklahoma’s.

An interesting side note to this game is the fact that the rest of the schools making all this money now owe it directly to these 2 schools jumping out there in the early 80's and suing the NCAA for rights to get their games on television. You are all welcome. I can't believe that this is the first meeting between he schools.

OU will beat the ever-loving dogshit out of GA. GA is new to this, OU isn't. Baker and co. will have GA's defense in a fog by the 2nd quarter, and it'll take them WAY too long to score TD's on drives, whereas OU will have multiple possessions ending in a score with less than 6-7 plays.

Oklahoma 49
Georgia 24

I think your score is too high. Oklahoma can be run on and Georgia can run. So I think Georgia will slow play the game as much as possible to control the game and ToP. They won't be playing a Big12 team with an offense that scores so fast.

Oklahoma wins 34-28.

OU will be up 21-0 after one because Georgia is bound to make a costly mistake early, resulting in a quick OU td. 4 more TD's the rest of the game, boom you got 49 points

i think the last time a sec team played in the RB was Bama in the mid 40s if I'm not mistaken.. if UGA travels well this may be a good game.

We played in the stadium a few times, but not the actual "Rose Bowl" game.

We'll see. I'll say this:

Oklahoma has the #1 offense* and the #67th defense.

Georgia has the #4 offense and the #3 defense.

*Oklahoma has the #1 offense by a decent margin too.

This is kind of the way I see it going unless Georgia fucks up early with a couple turnovers or something. Oklahoma may finish a little farther out with a score to ice the game in the fourth.

Yes, but look at the offenses Georgia has faced. TCU had a top 5 defense before playing Oklahoma twice.

In FEI, TCU had the #13 defense and #41 offense coming into this weekend, don't have an updated stat yet from this weekend.

Believe it or not, the computers do not really care for Oklahoma.

I was referring to the first time we played them. Knocked them from top 5 to out of the top 10. Then again after this weekend. People been telling us wait till we play a real defense (Auburn, Ohio State and tcu). The result has been the same.

Yeah, I think you'll still score pretty easy overall. Saw it with Clemson and Alabama last 2 years. Great defenses, but when an offense is executing there isn't much you can do about it anymore.
