no its all good. i like Butler, but now we watch the cavs series and wonder what Danny and Brad see as the missing pieces. Adding Hayward and Fultz (or Jackson), and adding Zizic might be the trick

no question Danny loves the brow. thats a big giveaway tho
Anthony Davis might be one of the only players you considering making a move like that for.

He's got it all:

1.) He's a legit superstar
2.) He's a big (worth their weight in gold)
3.) He's young

He is as close to a sure thing as you can get... draft picks come with uncertainty.

Looks like you may be right, LM.

Doing my morning reading... the consensus opinion seems to be that the C's would not consider this years #1 in any trade scenario for names like Butler and George.

Interesting. I may have to recalibrate my thinking.

Just cause other people think that doesn't mean you're wrong.

Butler and George are proven difference makers on both ends of the floor. Ball and Fultz are complete unknowns.

Celtics are a 50-win team and one of the last four teams alive this season. That's a team that should be adding veterans ready to contribute, not sacrificing the present for an unknown future.

Butler needs another great "go to offensive player' To play with.. Celtics don't have one.

Isaiah Thomas says hello.

Hes not great. Good player though. Too Small ultimately. Boston won't see a title if Butler is the only reliable consistent "go to guy"

If we're talking defense... you're right

But because we're talking offense... I think IT has really proved you wrong this year.

If Butler goes to Boston, Boston has to give up someone like Bradley and others, and Butler/Thomas being the 1-2 punch a bunch of average/decent role player (Nothing spectacular) thats basically the Bulls for Butler all over again. A bunch semis or conference finals elmination. It still wont be enough to get over the Cleveland hump or a GS hump.

For Cleveland/GS to go down, more superteams have to be developed

For Cavs/Warriors to go down, Spurs need another big time superstar to go with Leonard. The Spurs once again are the closest team with the foundation in place but they are still missing a big name piece

There is no way, no how that I would ever trade this pick for Jimmy Butler. The Bulls blew their chance and thank god it did not turn out this way. Their may only be two or three players I would consider, starting with the big guy in New Orleans. I would give next years pick and Rozier, but that is it.

This #1 slot changes everything

I do wish they had worked something out last year instead of getting Brown.

Takes two to tango... reports were that other teams were asking for a lot.

At least Brown was a decent pick.

I would only do it for the #1, and include Carmello

But Phil is awful, so he probably wouldnt do what I would do

There would have to be a LOT of contracts coming back to the Knicks to balance that trade. Melo and Zinger are approx $29M together.

He averaged 29 ppg. He's emerged as an elite scorer.

Saw this interesting tweet:

After the Pelicans made the move to bring over Demarcus it wouldn't make sense to trade AD until they have a full season to try and contend. Although Boogie's reaction would be great.

I don't disagree... it's at least a "consider worthy" offer, though.

I would consider it too, it could even happen at next seasons trade deadline if the Pelicans suck and Fultz is playing limited minutes.

Yeah, i was kinda hoping they were gonna stash Bender for another year.

But Brown is ok.

Any chance the kings move up for Ball?

C's could get 2 guys they really should get (Tatum/Isaac and Collins the Zaga version) and stick it the Lakers all at the same time.

me thinks you have alternative intentions.........

Cleveland will get to the finals this year and maybe next year, then the party will be over
