orange and black fancave talk.

Stamkos and Bishop for Giroux and Mason

thoughts?

Well, Bishop is an UFA so there's no risk there, let him go elsewhere. It's really just Giroux for Stamkos. I do think Stamkos provides the sniper this team desperately needs, and could be pretty special teamed with Jake.

I guess the big question on that trade is whether or not Giroux is playing hurt (again). If he is, I probably don't make the trade. If he's not, I pull the trigger.

Best player on the ice continues to be Provorov.

True, but I think a lot of our boys played well last night, we just did not get seemingly any breaks and Washington has so much firepower. They wired a couple of world-class, precision shots that you don't see very often. Can't beat that.

Wow, if Ron Hainsey (a soon to be 36 year old veteran with zero playoff experience) can be dealt as a rental for a second round pick and a prospect, we should be getting something similar or better for Streit and then also for MDZ.

To be honest this team is probably better served to parlay fringe vet's into future players so be it if they don't make it this year. You can't keep spinning your tires. Close only gets you so far in the long run this is probably best hate it but so be it.

I think that more than one trade is going to be made between now and the deadline geared at making room for Phantoms to come up, adding a goalie who is under contract for next season (so they have someone to expose to the expansion draft).

Seriously. If at all possible, trade Streit, MDZ, Schultz and a goalie away, if not both goalies. Trade away all of the impending UFA's that we possibly can. Fuck it, I'm not sure that I want to re-sign either of them for next season. Mase doesn't show up in the playoffs and Neuvy is too often injured. The last goal he gave up last night kills me too. Zero fucking excuse for that.

Carolina is doing it too and we need to fall in line here. We're in about the same position that they are.

Del Zotto, Streit, Schultz, Bellemare, VandeVelde, Weal, Gordon, Mason, Neuvirth are ALL UFA.
Ghost, Cousins and Lyubimov are all RFA

Only Cousins, Ghost, Lyubimov and Bellemare should be priorities.

Stolarz is also a UFA as is Lyon....

They are RFA's. I imagine both will definitely be re-signed.

I would just love to get rid of as many true UFA's as possible. Weal is possibly the only one I would potentially keep due to his prowess in the Ahl.
