I don't see another group as tough. And no, I don't see Klinsman just looking ahead to 2018.

I would argue that Group D is pretty close. Uruguay, Italy, and England are all top-15 sides. If Germany and Portugal do advance from Group G, no one will really be shocked with either the US or Ghana being eliminated early. But one of those 3 teams in Group D will be sent home too early in many people's eyes. None are as good as Germany, so for that reason alone the US group is probably the toughest. But that Group D is no picnic.

As far as easiest group, Belgium got a cakewalk in Group H. Russia, South Korea, and Algeria aren't scaring anyone. Argentina also got a super easy draw in Group F with Bosnia, Nigeria, and Iran.

I guess there's flopping in soccer too. He probably learned that watching D Wade.

Naw, flopping in soccer has been around since the game was invented

So that PK for Spain was total bullshit. He got awarded for over playing the ball.

Manu ginobli's career is based on flopping, wade isn't even close

While Ginobili certainly did make a career out of flopping, Dwyane Wade is absolutely right there with him. Ginobili might flop more often, but Wade is much more dramatic about it. I lost all respect for Wade during those 06 Finals when he acted like he got shoved, punched, slapped, and practically shot with a gun too many times to count when there were no Mavs anywhere remotely near him. It was sickening. Ginobili frequently over sells contact when there is little to none. But Wade acts like he got punched in the face and then has the nerve to complain when the refs don't buy his act. He did it the other night and he tried to do it against the Mavs again in the 2011 Finals when he heaved up a desperation half-court buzzer shot. No Mavs player was remotely close to touching him but he fell to the floor, rolled around, and then lobbied for the call. He's a total drama queen. He needed a wheelchair to leave the court after injuring his shoulder. Pathetic.

I was glad that the Refs weren't calling flops the last 2 games..... Hopefully that trend continues.

I think the Netherlands demolition of Spain solicits that bracket as one of the toughest, poor Australia has ZERO chance

That was a pretty ugly half. We're fortunate to be up 1-0. Another injury. I'm way to used to it.

You'd never know the US won if you looked at just the stat sheet. Shot count and possession % heavily favored Ghana. US will have to play better even without Altidore if they hope to beat Portugal.

USA! USA! USA!

I actually like our chances against Portugal with them missing 3 players.

Bradley will actually have to show up, he was pretty terrible

Yes, and that's not the usual Bradley. He'll be better against Portugal and Jurgen will have a week to come up with a better plan against Portugal (who are missing 3 starters) without Jozy. Though, if we make it to the knockout stage, I'm not sure I'm optimistic without Jozy.

Soccer is a crazy game. Ghana looked like the better team, but we won the match. It's important to take advantage of Portugal's weakness because I don't think we can hang with the Germans.

A win over Portugal and it doesn't matter what we do against Germany. Hell, we can both rest our stars and settle for a tie.
