See Mitzi here is the thing..

I could actually see this team doing ok with Smith..

As long as they give him

1. A top ten defense
2. A top ten running game
3. 2-3 stellar WRs
4. An Elite TE that can stay healthy
5. A special Teams unit that helps more than it hurts.

Smith is a bus driver, I was told repeatedly that if we moved away from Cousins, we needed a guy who could carry the team and didnt need all this.

Now mind you the last guy didnt have HALF of this list and we still pulled seven wins. So if Smith is that better QB, and they give him all of these... I would expect alot more than the 8 wins we are apparently supposed to see as progress now.

Well...let’s look at this season and see who has more wins.

KC and the Vikings will have more wins than AS and the Redskins.

I wasn't crazy about the trade, but...I think the benefit is - it took away the QB distraction. We have a good QB who actually wants to be here for the next 4 years. It's somewhat of a breath of fresh air. That and it's hard not to root for Alex. Cousins was a good guy, but Alex has more charisma and I think leadership ability.

While it's all true... we will be losing a bit in the passing game, especially deep. There's also something that we gain, more diversity in the run game. Anything that improves that part of our offense, despite the minimal loss in the passing game, is a win for us.

Actually, when you have a pretty good run game the run pass distribution is more balanced and therefore, less need to HAVE to throw the ball as much.
