Bought a Mac in 2001 and haven't looked back. I like to use my computer to get things done.

I have a PC at work and IT is constantly updating the shit out of it.

You probably have a help line, also you can consider an external drive, I use these. Just download all the files to the external drive which plugs into USB, real simple to transfer files onto that.

I absolutely love my Mac. They just work. Though I'd say they tend to be more for creative people.

I write and compose my own music and my Mac is perfect for that.

Macs update too. And there have been many OS improvements that a mac from 2001 isn't getting much done.

My wife is all apple. Mac book, iPhone, iWatch and whatever else Apple can convince people to be nonconformists by conforming to them.
Every time one of her things gets an update something else quits working until a patch is issued. And every time she calls Apple to bitch, something else needs an update. Her MacBook from '14 was essentially a boat anchor incapable of accepting new updates.

The good part, she can call Apple.

I find it rather hilarious the hate so many people have for Apple. I'm surprised you didn't use the "Apple fanboy" term while you were at it.

I love my Macbook Pro. I loved all my previous Macs. The architecture just works for me.

And I am glad for you.

I find it hilarious too when people say things like I use Apple because I like to get things done, or I like something that works, insinuating that there is never a point where it will need an update or nothing ever goes wrong with an Apple when it just isn't true. I know this because I live with a Fan Girl. And two Fan Kids. Whose iPads are not used anymore because they are essentially useless due to being so old they cannot be updated.

Apple does make a fine product. With fine service. But for instance, I have a Dell computer. And I have a Motorola phone. And I have a Garmin watch. They all work seamlessly together. An iWatch will not work with my phone or computer. An iPhone 14 will not work with my watch or computer. I can go buy a Samsung watch and it will work with either. Or a Samsung phone. That is what I hate about Apple. You have to buy more Apple.

I love my iPhone. Play with my newly purchased iPad Air2 when I go to bed. Just never like the mac architecture. Possibly because I cut my teeth on Windows.

Only thing I'm still having problems with is get Office 365 to download and work correctly. The stuff that came from the old one can't find the right path. So I downloaded it from the source and can only find it on Chrome and it won't move to my desktop.
