19th pick I believe. Got to get beef no matter what. OL or DL. We have not drafted well early in past drafts at the RB or WR positions.

We got at least 4 starters from last years draft. They killed it

Steve Avila, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, Puca Nacua, Ethan Evans all starters.

Opportunities for Davis Allen, TH-T, Zach Evans and Jason Taylor II to carve out roles, even if not full time starting. Desjaun Johnson and Nick Hampton also have seen reps.

The one real stinker pick, which many didn't like when it happened (including me), was Stetson Bennett. Of course, he never got a shot due to the mystery surrounding his time away from the team. Does he even return?

Yeah I left out the punter. 4 minimum for sure

Might as well pick your nose at #22.

Half of the league is looking for a LT. There won't be many left. One I like for the fifth or sixth round and could be a huge surprise is
Kiran Amegadjie of Yale. He's 6'5" 326 and he's declaring as a junior.
I saw one mock draft where 6 OTs went before the Rams pick.

It was a hell of a draft.

They need to make it 2 in a row to go from playoffs to real contenders.

Window is closing fast on Donald and Stafford’s retirement.

A quick guess without trades, assuming Fields traded to the Falcons and the Vikes re-signing Cousins):

1. CHI: Caleb Williams, QB, USC
2. WAS: Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
3. NE: Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU
4. ARI: Marvin Williams II, WR, Ohio State
5. LAC: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
6. NYG: Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame
7. TEN: Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State
8. ATL: Dallas Turner, Edge, Alabama
9. CHI: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington
10. NYJ: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
11. MIN: Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois
12. DEN: Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
13. LV: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama
14. NO: JC Latham, OT, Alabama
15. IND: Laiatu Latu, Edge, UCLA
16. SEA: Jaren Verse, Edge, Florida State
17. JAX: Brian Thomas Jr, WR, LSU
18. CIN: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

That leaves the Rams with some stud DBs (Arnold, DeJean, Wiggins), a few OT candidates (Fuaga, Guyton, Kingsley), a raw Edge (Chop), maybe a QB (Penix, McCarthy) to pick from.

The only pick I hedged on was the Jets, who I could see going OT or taking the blue chip talent in Bowers.

Tried a quick mock on PFN (semi-blind, as I haven't read up on too many prospects out of the top 100):

19. Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia
52. Bralen Trice, Edge, Washington
83. Kris Abrams-Draine, CB, Missouri
147. Jaylon Carlies, S, Missouri
148. Joe Milton, QB, Tennessee
173. Jaden Davis, CB, Miami

This is the type of DT we need going forward next to Turner and AD.

.
Texas image
T'Vondre Sweat*, DT, Texas
Height: 6-4. Weight: 340.
Projected 40 Time: 4.99.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.

1/13/24: Sweat did well in games against Alabama and Oklahoma, but in other games, he did not play as well. In 2023, Sweat totaled 45 tackles, two sacks and five passes broken up. Sweat looked heavier compared to 2022 and did not seem to be moving as well. Those things will only reinforce the work ethic and conditioning concerns NFL sources have.
8/19/23: Sweat is a massive nose tackle who is a beast at the point of attack in the ground game. He had his best statistical year in run support in 2022, recording 29 tackles. Sweat totaled 22 stops total in each of his previous two seasons. He is a big, powerful, strong man who can cause disruption at the point of attack and also generate a push in the pass rush. Off the field, team sources say Sweat a good kid but has some issues with lethargy and likes to party. Sweat possesses a big-time skill set and upside to develop.

I would love if they traded that #19 for a good veteran DE

Not liking that evaluation much. Sounds like a 2 down player with insufficient focus and conditioning.

Are we really encouraging trading away picks after all the criticism over doing so previously?

Rams can get a starting level CB or Edge at 19. Stay put IMO.
What criticism we got good players for those picks.

Most of these college edge rushers don’t pan out. If we can get someone thst is good

Or this guy for D-line

10.
LSU image
Jordan Jefferson*, DT, LSU
Height: 6-4. Weight: 317.
Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
Projected Round (2024): 2-3.

1/13/24: The big and strong nose tackle Jefferson impressed team evaluators with his in 2023. The Navarre, Florida product was a tough run defender in the middle of the defensive line for the Tigers. He collected 36 tackles, 2.5 sacks and pass defended in 2023. As junior, he recorded three sacks and 31 tackles. Jefferson has good size for the NFL and could be a physical interior defender as a pro.

Our official draft selection spot for the 2024 NFL draft is 19th, right after Cincinnati and right before Pissburgh!

Sweat or Swift. Sweat can be trained hanging around AD and KT. He is a load and could clog the middle with that massive widebody and take the pressure off AD. Just like A-Rob used to do.

I don't know that I'd emphasize DT high enough in the draft to get Sweat (potential 1st rounder), but it's clearly not my call lol.
