Yeah, been a rough season for the pitching in general.

Did anyone watch the big inning yesterday? I know I thought Hamilton was dead to rights at second, but Mercer missed the ball, but how many runs would making that tag have saved?

We've had a few runners out on steals, but our middle infielders haven't finished the play. Walker dropped an easy one a few days ago I remember. In general, our infield defense has not been good this year.

I think I saw the Mercer play, but was flipping back and forth with the Pens. The defense has been less than stellar for sure.

Yeah, same here, which is why I'm not sure how much of a difference it would have made. Maybe one run.

Even so, with Morton on the hill, the defense has to be sharp, and they haven't been this year.

Even hitting as well as he has this year, I don't like Walker batting second.

I think that was foul, but I'll take it.

We haven't really gotten the better side of bad calls this year.

Well, I'm all for Cutch batting second. Martin would be my second choice, if Cutch is gonna bat third.

That being said, great ab for Walker.

He has good plate discipline, but I'd rather see him sixth or seventh to help turn the lineup over.

And Pedro just pulled that ball enough.

It's not often you see a guy rob a guy of a hit in one half inning, then get robbed of a hit the next, but that just happened to Heisey.

Man Marte really needs to figure himself out, no way he is gonna last long in the league with a Pedro-esque k rate.

Agreed. The only way you can get away with that is if you can hit the ball over the fence often. Marte doesn't, and all he really needs to do is put the ball in play to have a chance to get on base.

Even after that double (not a terrible pitch) Cumpton's been very good today. The offense has gotten a lot of baserunners, but we've failed to capitalize.

Yeah, I'm sure we all would have signed up for 6IP, 2 runs at the beginning of this game. Shame the offense is terrible again.

7 IP 2 ER is excellent for Cumpton. We need to get the bats going.

I really like Stewart as a defensive catcher, I'm glad to have him as our backup.

Now, can the bottom of the order get us the tie/win in the 9th? It seems unlikely, but darn it, they best try!

Welp, another lame ass offensive effort. Team can't score unless they hit HR's.
