1A) QB
1B) Tyree Wilson a DE who has better production than either Carter or Anderson he just has not gotten the hype and he's a 3-4 DE.
2A) Patterson- that would help the interior of the OL
2B) Siaki Ika- a actual nose tackle

^^^^^That would be a outstanding draft even if the QB busted IMO. Then you have the rest of the draft to upgrade the roster. Seahawks need to upgrade the defense but that doesn't mean they HAVE TO use that first pick on Carter or Anderson. I"m not convinced those two are the best defensive players in this draft, they are just who the media latched onto to hype.

Imagine putting carter and wilson on the same line, with Taylor coming off the edge on 3rd down.

Carters stats are way under whelming any way you cut it, my problem with Anderson is the Seahawks use a 3-4 and no way could he play DE in that system and I've seen nothing that says he can cover as a LB.

Carter is a 2 gap 4-3 DT at Georgia. He is never going to put up eye popping stats in that position. Similar to Jordan Davis except that Carter has more explosion

He sees alot of double teams too, something offenses dont have to worry about against our current DL

Will Anderson

How does Wilson have more production than Anderson? Anderson has essentially double Wilson's production?

Carter is a guy who could play all 3 DL positions in a 3-4.

I like wilson, dude is long and finishes but he's not in the top echelon in this class.

A carter/verse or Anderson/wilson draft would be great

He played at DE also at Georgia.

Which where his value is as a jack of all trade, but master of none.
How do you know this? How do you know he can't play them all really well? Or maybe play inside really well in a 3-4 and outside good enough?

Just IMO, which I base on watching some games, listening to some breakdown of his play ( which I posted here in this forum) and his stats which are surprisingly weak for someone hyped to be taken at the top of the draft.

Anderson will not be able to play DE in a 3-4, he'll have to be a LB and cover which doesn't look like a great idea.

To be clear, I don't know enough about any of these players to speak with any knowledge about any of them. I would hope that PC/JS know the kinds of players they are looking for. So if they think that Anderson isn't a good fit or Carter. That's fine with me. My main concern is that we fix the defense.

Ah c'mon man, just watch a couple games and look at the stats and you can see Cart is just a jack of all trades and master of none!

I would love Jalen Carter with our 1st pick and then Tuli Tuipulotu, DE, USC w/ our 2nd pick in the 1st round... Tuli is a very smart player w/ a high motor.. FBS sack leader as well...

Looking through scouting reports, there dont seem to be any concerns about Anderson dropping into coverage. He also gets high marks as run defender which would be a bonus considering we have no contain right now

Have not heard much about him in pass coverage because he rarely has to do that. His PFF grade for coverage for 2022 is 56.5 which is not good. Alabama lets him put his head down and go straight into the backfield.

He likely rarely drops back into pass coverage. Very few premium pass rushers drop into coverage in college.

If the #3 pick bust and is a QB that is not an outstanding draft no matter how you want to look at it because that #3 pick could have been turned into a handful of other picks or another Superstar at a different need position.

If we are desperate for a QB then the mirage of greatness blinds all who seek one. Hawks don't need a great QB to win they need a great D and a game manager QB that limits turnovers.
