The body is an amazing thing. It's designed to fix itself and does it well when given the proper resources. It's also quirky and can benefit when those quirks are studied and understood.

Enter a guy like AG who understands both the resources required and the quirks, but I use the phrase "like" on purpose. He's been accused of manipulating people with his knowledge to make bank. We know the world is full of snake oil salesmen so the question is: Is AG selling the not so magical insight into the magical body or just better packaged snake oil...

It seems to me he's he real deal, but I completely understand the skepticism given the world has far more snake oil specialists than people of any other profession.

I'm not 100% sold on everything Guerreo does. BUT, he believes that micro-tearing muscle to build bulk and strength leads to them being easier to damage. Enlongating them and making them more flexible allows them to be struck and respond much quicker. I'm working with elasyics with my grandson and they seem to work really well allowing him to react and move much quicker. He felt foolish the first few times doing exercises with a band wrapped around his legs, but now that the weather is warming up, he's doing his dance routine in the back yard.

As far as squats go, I always used them as punishment. Telling a player to do 10 push ups is a waste. Tell them to do 10 deep squats tends to get the message across, even to the most difficult ones.

Guerreo is a problem for Belichick. he doesn't understand fully what he's try to acheive and he thinks it's against everything that football has done up until now. What makes it worse is when a player who has sought help from Ag tells the Pats trainers that they don't want to do an exercise or weight work because AG has said it will prevent healing or not benefit their problem.

I agree with @NWPATSFAN and @nefansince75 that BB has to incorporate AG into working with the training and strength staff and possibly start to change the way that players get into shape and more important stay in shape. It would be nice to go through one season without have 14 guys on IR.

I agree 100% but even if it's a better snake oil then mentally some people benefit from it.

Right on Ken, I think most of us have known weight training to the extent pro athletes do it is not good for the body overall. I don't claim to know what NE does in their weight room so I shouldn't say one way or another. But like you I've seen the changes work. To include the military where they've gotten away from the everyday push up, sit up, run routine. Joints weren't designed for that constant pounding. Likewise muscle needs time to heal. That's nothing new and I'm not telling anybody anything they didn't already know. I became a believer when the military started recognizing acupuncture and chiropractic. I never thought I'd see that day.

If Woody was playing for Belichick, the it would have been in BB's best interest to help him. I'm not trying to diminish what BB did, but everyone wins.

Bill only allows us to see what he wants us to see. Many a player leave gushing how great it was to play for him and what they learned. Likewise they say how funny he is.

Honestly not many if any of us have seen these sides of Bill

“He was cool, laid back. He just wanted to talk.” - Lamar Jackson, age 21, on his meeting with the unrelatable, game-has-passed-him-by Bill Belichick

One of my favorite Bill moments was when he called for Flutie to drop kick the extra point. He didn't do it to LET Flutie do it, he did it because Flutie COULD do it and it added throw-back history.

Question: “Did the absence of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski slow down your progress at all? How did that affect what you’ve been trying to do?”

Answer: “The OTA system is voluntary.”

Question: “Did it affect the progress of what you’re trying to do at all? Did it have any effect at all?”

Answer: “It’s a voluntary program.”

Follow-up: “That’s not what I asked.”

Bellichick: “Well, that’s the answer.”

As it relates to Brady, Belichick eventually said that the quarterback had missed OTAs in past years.

“If you go back a few years,” Belichick said, “there was times when he wasn’t — I mean look, again, it’s a voluntary program. So that’s what it is. You’ll have to ask him about it.”

I gotta good chuckle out of this. When will the media learn?

Brady is showing the Boston media that paybacks a bitch. There were about 200 reporters in the press room after practice waiting for Brady to drop in. No media was allowed in the locker room because there was a crush and the team didn't want 200 people keeping players from getting showered, etc.

Anyway..............Gronk walked out and did about 10 minutes and by the time that the media realized the press meeting was over, Brady was gone.

Today, there'll be 300 media and the stadium will most like be cordoned off. Media cannot approach players on the practice field. I hope someone films Brady leaving the field today. Even better, I hope he takes all of the WRs into the bubble and security sends the media up to the parking lot...........heh heh

Isn't their job to get the biggest story they can and I would bet Brady is the biggest story in Boston right now.

Yes that's their job but when you're asked the same question over and over again you get tired of it. That's exactly how Belichick feels

Belichick and company knew what they were signing up for. I mean they have been doing this for long enough they know this is just part of it. I don't blame them for trying to escape the media but I also don't blame the media for doing what they can to get the story short of doing anything illegal obviously.
