TE is not a need for us SJ... Kendricks and Cook are around for 3 to 4 more years and Harkey is a beast and Bayer is solid depth. I would look at a FS/CB type in round 6 like DeShazor Everett from TAMU or Dechane Durante. As for a power C from the SEC late, I suppose Max Garcia from Florida is your man. But look at Greg Mancz as well.

Max Garcia would be good in the 5th. Lots of teams need a center it seems and there is a big falloff after Erving.

Am I crazy in thinking the Rams might take Erving at 10?

It seems too early, but it all depends on their board. With 3 centers already on the roster, it seems unlikely though.

Yeah it's funny if we traded back to 15-16 and picked him it would seem ok but 10 feels to soon. The problem there will be a impact player at 10 like Wayne, Peter's, Parker. I think you would have to go with one of those guys first or your reaching pretty much.

While Barksdale is out there in the market, Im 100% convinced that they'll be picking an offensive lineman.

If Barksdale signs I am all for Scherff or Collins at 10. Play them at Guard for a year and the kick out to RT. Both could be gone at 10 which I would be all for Cooper or White. Otherwise trade down.

If that's the case let's pray we can trade back and get another pick. With the guys I mentioned you would think someone would want too. I didn't even mention Gregory or a stud DT that will be there to for someone. I'm sure they do love Erving with him being able to play anywhere on the line. They need to sign Wiz or Barksdale that would make the draft a lot easier.

BTW Mariota is now the #1 QB on Mike Mayock's QB Rankings  talk about throwing a wrench in things... What if Tampa takes him #1.

I disagree. Our TE's are average. Plus you never know who the next great TE might be and yeah it's a huge weapon. Cook can't catch and can't block - he might not be around after this year if he doesn't step up. Kendricks doesn't really have a lot of speed. The guy i'm looking at - if he's there in the 6th.. He dominated the combine compared to the other TEs.

No I don't think you take Cam Irving at #10. Plenty of pretty good Center's in this draft. We just need a guy to block people and maul people.

It's the 6th/7th round... And it's a crap shoot. Both of the guys I am looking at are rated pretty high for these rounds if they are still there and would be good value.

I am really just looking at value 1st, then who fits the need next. This is the blend of BPA and need in my book.

If Tampa takes Mariota (which I doubt), then Winston will be gone quickly to the Titans (or whomever trades up with the Titans).

MM stock seems to be on the rise for sure.

Not sure why. A few good workouts? The only real rise I see is that teams are supposedly willing to trade up to #2 to lock him up, instead of letting him fall a few spots to the Redskins or Jets first.

I think it has a lot to do with the questions about JW. I'm not even talking about the off the field issues. I'm talking about leading college in interceptions last year and putting his team behind and in bad spots. Yes he came back to win a lot of those games but that won't be the case if he does it in the NFL. I would not want to be making that pick if I'm Tampa. I would consider taking Williams and Petty in the second.

Not me. Winston is MILES beyond Petty as a pro QB prospect.

This DT class is really deep. Any team needing a DT will be able to find a starter in rd2. Can't say that about QB even though Winston seems iffy and Mariota seems bad

That's a great point and you're probably right... but Williams is a sure thing and I'd rather bust on a quarterback in the second round then with the first pick. But like I've been saying if you're picking first and you need a QB nfl teams seem to take the gamble with the quarterback vs the safe pick.

This guy. Notice how he was the NFL combine top performer at TE in 5 of 6 catagories.

It's a risk I'll take in the 6th round.. I'll find a center in the 7th that has high value too.

I am actually WAY on board with this thought. But he is flying up draft boards and in the real draft he should be a 4th or 5th round pick.
