Vince Velasquez's slash line from yesterday's performance: 9.00 ERA/6.62 FIP/1.32 xFIP.
Good thing I've never been high on xFIP as a statistic.

And you take that back! I'm a responsible drug user, getting his supply from a doctor so you know it's got to be safeone of the rare things you've never been high on.....
No, it's that some (i.e. Adam Morgan) just suckMcClure has a tough job. He is trying to teach young pitchers to throw the ball down. Mostly it is a mental
flaw with young guys. They just don't listen well. I think the pitchers should get a bonus of $100,000
for every game they can last 7 innings without giving up a walk or a homerun. Even if they do not attain that goal, they should show a substantial improvement.

He can't put movement on the ball? What the fuck are you talking about- he has the most movement on his fastball of any Phillies' pitcher except maybe NolaI can't understand what the fuck is wrong with this guy. He can throw hard but can't put movement on the ball. If a wimp like Moyer could pitch with finesse why can't Vinnie. But with 10Ks yesterday he must be fooling somebody at the plate. Obviously, he still needs much more work on the tough pitches. Maybe McClure's worthless.

No, he is not a "keeper." A keeper is Manny Machado or Jose Altuve, not some starting pitcher who hasn't logged 135 innings in the majors. I just took objection to you saying that he has no movement on his fastball, when stats and the eye-test say otherwise.Well, what the fuck are you talking about? I don't know which pitches sailed over the wall yesterday, but he still needs some wicked breaking balls or change-ups to throw at the right time. If he does have as you say, the most movement on his fastball of any Phillies' pitcher, then _phillies_ should pipe down, and he's a keeper. What do you think of that shit?
Vince Velasquez was 55th in baseball last year in horizontal movement on his four-seamer.

Why the infatuation with Velasquez? I'm not saying he's going to be a bust like Fraduco, but we know what we're getting with the guy- someone who can't throw a lot of innings, strikes out a lot of guys, and walks quite a bit too. Sometimes it works out (April 16th, 2016), sometimes it doesn't (yesterday). Not a Sean Connery, Untouchable type of player, trust me.
Because Franco sucks and has no approach at the plate. You can like Vince, but refusing to trade him for the right price is retardedWell, fucker, we all have our favorites. I want him to be unstoppable, a K king with control. Why you're commitment to give up so early on Franco? You're crazier than me.
Why are you referencing vertical movement with a four-seam fastball?Location is important so that one stat by itself doesn't a whole lot. Vert movement is 134th. He probably keeps throwing it in the sweet zone. Maybe McClure knows.

@_phiLLies_!!!It's retarded to give up on a guy with proven potential. I just think he's got more work to do. and he'll get there.
