If pop is overrated than Timmy is the GOAT, carrying him to 5 titles.

To answer Hammer's original question....

between Popvich and Danny Ainge, I would have to say Pop is the more overrated.

After all, in order to be overrated, you have to be rated and who the fuck rates Danny Ainge as anything.

"Danny Ainge has gotten us to where we are today!" - fans of the laughingstock of the NBA

I voted Popovich for 1 reason:

Ainge is not overrated. Most people think he sucks.

Being facetious. Don't want to go down the Kerr rabbit hole again.

Kerr wasn't good in the finals I admit, but seeing the change that went from Mark Jackson to the championship Warriors was enough to convince me he's the real deal. This season will be interesting though, especially from the perceived lack of depth.

Apparently this thread is the standard for "basketball knowledge" on this board...

The obvious choice is Kobe Bryant.

Well, if we making this list, how could you leave Phil Jackson?

Name one thing he won without either Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant.

What did M.J. or Kobe ever win with out Phil Jackson? Works both ways fool. Peace.

It's a tie between Pat Riley and Phil Jackson.

LOL - I guess that the consensus is that just about every coach for an NBA champion in the last 20 years is terrible. Or do some here perhaps think that Lue, Spoelstra & Carlisle are the only truly good coaches in this category? :D

With Phil's last game with the defending champ Lakers getting swept by Mavs.

So? You still haven't answered my question. What did M.J. and Kobe ever win with out Phil Jackson? It's a simple question. It's not a trick question so I think you can answer it. Have a great day. Peace.

Imo if Pop was the coach/gm of the Celtics, they'd be a #2 seed next year and a #1 seed for the 5 years after that.

If Pop was the coach/gm of the Sixers, they'd be a #4 or #5 seed next year and making the playoffs every year after that.

He is good. He traded George Hill for Kawhi Leonard.

I don't think coaches win championships generally but they can certainly lose them. Coaches do make teams get to the playoffs, though. Good coaches don't miss the playoffs unless half of their team gets hurt.
