Easley. Wow. Was really starting to think this kid was going to be our pick. Kind of glad he went because I'm just not sure what to think of him. At least I guessed DL for NE correctly

Agree. If anyone even mention an offensive player in rounds 2 and 3 they should be fired on the spot. I might even include the 4th round.

Don't be shocked if we go QB or WR in the 4th. Don't think we will before then though

I was starting to get a little concerned Jerry wouldn't be able to resist himself and draft a WR in the 2nd round. But enough are off the board now, that I am not too concerned.

That's why I didn't include the 4th in my original thought. If we do go offense in the 4th it better be great value. Now if Savage is there in the 3rd I may have to be the one fired.

By the way. How did you get picked to sit in the war room?

Sorry I'm late to the party. I just want to say, I feel what Twist is saying, but by now, you've got to half expect Jerry to do this. This pick was about Romo, period. Not Garrett, not RM, and not about winning. It's about the (stupid) investment Jerry made in Romo. I hate that he thinks this way, but in his mind it makes complete sense. That and the Martin kid is damn good.

It can just as easily be said the Texans failed his brother by not protecting him & building around him. The guy took a beating, hell he got sacked over 60 times one year.

I can understand those who are upset with going offensive line early. We all have our opinions. My personal opinion on the pick is it was solid. They went BPA and got it, even though it wasn't the position I preferred them to pick. But the point I'm trying to make: Regardless of who the Cowboys were gonna pick at 16, that was not one of the most important pick in this draft. The most important picks in this draft remain after Round 3. That has been the issue with this organization and has separated them from the big boys for almost two decades now. One playoff win in 18 years, and missing on so many picks after Round 3 are a big reason why.

The Cowboys could have drafted Clowney tonight with their first pick this year and it still wouldn't have helped this team get over the hump as long as they continue to miss on late round picks like they've been doing for almost two decades. We have 10 more picks. It was already a must that we hit on defense late in the draft regardless of who we picked at 16.

Year late and a dollar short. If they had drafted properly last year (Waterford), there would be no need for Martin. They put more pressure on themselevs by not filling the glaring need at safety. I am tired of that position being overlooked because stupid Jerry does not value the position. We are rolling with Heath and Wilcox Good luck with that!!

I'll assume you mean Warford. They said they didn't see the fit between him and the teams blocking scheme. The fact that he went in the 3rd rd has to add credence to that statement. On Warford it looks like the mick bloggers had him rated better than NFL teams did. Mocks had him in the 1st. A lot of teams passed.

You feel that way because we didn't take safety with our first of 11 picks??? I wanted Dix too, but you can't say for sure that's the case at this point. Anyway, Heath IMO is more likely to be cut than to see significant time on defense this year. It does trouble me that Jerry seems to like Wilcox a little more than I think he should, but I think we still add another saftey in the draft or a veteran FA before the start of the year. We definitely can't go into the year with the safety play we had last year and also the poor pass rush we had. I think we add one or the other in the 2nd round. Hopefully we add both in the next two rounds. I think we definitely go DL, but I'm wondering if it will be a pass rusher or not. that is the perfect fit, but I wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed depending on the player) if it was more of a 1 tech type. I'd like to add both a guy like Crichton/Lawrence and a guy like Hageman/Jernigan.
