It is what it is
Bailey has improved several aspects if his game- and pitching from the stretch is one. He's come farther with finishing his pitches, especially tightening the breaking ball. He's getting a little more run on the fastball, but still throws flatter from the stretch. IMO, his boggest improvement from the stretch is that he does it less now- he's walking fewer guys. He still doesn't hold runners well, but might be a little quicker to the plate.
In my perfect baseball world, the running game is one of the biggest tools to making the bad guys do things they don't want to do, including throwing too many fastballs to power hitters. THREATS of steals, bunts and hit and runs can be effective tools too, but only if you actually use them occasionally. Dusty doesn't often... Making him easy to counter. His only tool is to stand and hit. His elementary mistakes in fundamental run manufacturing only reinforce in inability to beat anyone that way. The talent has outgrown Dusty here, but still isn't talented enough to get to the next level making up for Dusty's limitations. It's unfortunate.
