tampa coming off 7 goals the night before were due for a letdown. should and did win
flyers have defense/goalie issues playing 2x in 2 days. should win and did.

this game the end of a long road trip with the home opener next. i can see them overlooking this game. hopefully they stay focus. would be nice to get a goal from jagr too

Caps are a tough team to figure out. They usually score enough to win every game but their D and goaltending lets em down a lot.

Id say that the key here is to get to Holtby early but the Sharks chased him early last game after putting up 3 in the first period and the Caps were able to get a point out of the game after Peters came in.

I think we can control the game and slow them down.

Once again, we can't give them opportunities on the PP with a guy like OV. I don't think they are a great defensive team so controlling the puck in their end and neutralizing their goal scorers is huge.

go 4-0, surprisingly and drop the home opener, although san jose is a good team to begin with.

Look at the bright side, with his history there's a good chance of season ending injury and the more minutes he plays....

I have a hard time saying that the current Bolts team is a "should win" at any point for the next 5ish seasons.

Totally agree. And I would look at it as 3 road wins, two against playoff teams from last year. One with 1 of the top 3 players in the world who we shut down. Or if you prefer "should wins"

Also, we need to stay the eff out of the box. Stamkos is ridiculous on the powerplay.

Ovechkin is a power play GOD.

Over the past 3 NHL seasons OVIE has 42 PPG, the next closest guy is Simmonds at 24. JEEEEZZZUUS.

I also don't think there even are should wins in this league. This isn't the NBA.

Still early in season, but I have a different feel for this team. Even down 3-2, I think this team has a chance to tie and maybe win. Last year? Forget it.

Ok we can say they should beat Florida, but say that last year? Also, every expert was picking the Devils to be as bad or maybe a tad bit better than the Panthers. Last year, Panthers at home, Devils most likely lose. Flyers are one of the better teams. If you gamble, I think TB and Philly were favorites by a goal. Panthers and Devils was probably very close to even.

So far, its been fun to watch this team. Can anybody say this team would go 3-0 to start the season with all these games on the road? I was thinking I'd be happy being 2-2 going into the opener.

I think Havlat will be ok but that was a lot of blood. I think he'll probably get patched up and be fine.
