Honestly not sure if he is that close but still would like to see him get a shot.

Looking at the projections for him their is mention of an ETA of 2014.
Do you know why they moved him from 1B to make room for Justin Howard?

Really don't know why they moved him, I heard he was a terrible first basemen though. Maybe they thought he could handle RF and his bat would play better there in the long run.

I am not a huge fan of moving Dickerson. We are about 1-2 years away from needing a firstbaseman, which is about the time Dickerson should be ready. He doesn't show any platoon splits at all and is hitting the ball with authority in AA. I am not so sure he is valuable enough to hold onto at all costs, but I am definitely not a fan of Rios, I like Dickerson for 6 years more than like like Rios for 1+.

To put it bluntly, I would not be good with any trade for Rios, no matter who the prospect going out was, let alone if we send out one with any potential value.

Not a fan of Glasnow for Norris though.

I don't hate this as much. Isn't Glasnow in A ball? That's a ways away from the big leagues, so lots could go wrong for him between now and then. A risk, yes, but I'm ok with trading a prospect like this. My question would be regarding a trade for Norris is whether or not he is really needed at all? I kind of like the Bucs rotation the way it is.

On top of the fact I think Rios is overrated my other concern with Rios could it directly effect the development of Polanco? Meaning the movement up to AAA and the majors?

Dickerson was moved to RF to allow Matt Curry play 1B. Curry got hurt and it was easier to move Howard to first and leave Dickerson in RF. I never heard that Dickerson was horrible at first, he just wasn't very good. His feet also bothered him at first and they haven't in RF.

Regardless, Dickerson is just starting to gain some name recognition and it probably isn't the time to move him, unless Huntington believes that this is his ceiling. Even still, he has the ability to be Garrett Jones without the platoon splits, and that has value. More than Alex Rios, but that is my opinion.

Yes Glasnow is in Low A. However, Nick Kingham was in Low A last season and he is now putting up very good numbers in AA. Glasnow has better primary pitches than Kingham had and could easily follow the same path as Kingham. Putting Glasnow about 2 years from the major leagues.

I would not be in favor of trading Glansow except as part of a package bringing back a huge return.

Yeah I don't the reason to use a big prospect for a Rios.

The only reason i like Wilson was he wouldn't cost anything in a trade and you could move Snider to the 60-day DL to free up the 40 man roster spot.

Chicago White Sox RF Alex Rios left the game in the 8th inning due to an apparent foot injury.

Maybe it is a good sign along with the game one lucky bounce game winner, Burnett's 6th inning and the first run in game 2 on a passed ball.

I want no part of Schierholtz. He had a career first half and really is no better than what we have. I want no part of Bud Norris either because I don't think he is any better than any of our current starters or Gomez for that matter. I still feel Rios is the best option if we get some money back and don't give a top prospect. He would be under contract for another year to give Polanco a little more seasoning in the minors and when Rios contract is up Polanco should be ready. If anything I think he would be energized and he would lengthen the lineup. I know he suffered a foot injury today but rumor is it isn't serious.

Yeah not a fan of Schierholtz it reminds me too much of anyone pursuing Marlon Byrd.

Looks like Peavy is traded to the Red Sox.
If they truly look for a pitcher I wonder if Vargas could be had cheap and is a FA end of season.

Schierholtz has been hot lately and he is cheap... He is a left handed bat... He is better than Tabata..

No he is not perfect.. but it is an upgrade without giving up the farm.

at least NH put out some offer or asked about trumbo.
that is what i like to hear.
if we trade, we go for a substantial upgrade that is young and will be around over the next 3-5 years of this cool ride.

i dont like the overpriced, rental as that is a gamble that has significant cost.

Apparently we're looking at Samardzija, too. Not sure how I feel about that.

saw that too.
i have always liked him.
we would save 3 losses to him a year if he was a buc.
wouldnt want to give up too much though with the depth we have pitching and guys close to contributing regularly.
would rather send those assets for a trumbo or stanton or rizzo or something like that.

Glad the whole market did nothing, hopefully all the 'sellers' will get burned and prices will come down next year.

Pirates had offers on the table that included some of their talented players but the sellers was not willing to sell.

Oh well, the lack of action only increases our playoff chances.

Glad that the Cardinals or reds did not make a huge push
