That was a nasty pitch for Strike three. I guess the game continues.

Once again all that and only 1 hit.

Top of the 16th now and tied at 3. That is 26 innings in 2 games for these 2 teams.

Barmes you stink.

Just glad they pulled it out.

But I agree and on that at bat he should have been told to not swing and just take every pitch. A strikeout would have been more productive from him.

So, the Pirates got screwed twice on reviews last night...Marte's HPB and the double play that was overturned.

That double play it was funny on the MLB network Harold Reynolds was beside himself that they overturned that one. I guess the neighborhood rule is not reviewable but I guess if there is an errand throw that could be. If they consider Walkers throw to be errand then every 4-6-3 double play if I was a manager I would be out there wanted it reviewed.

They really need to get away from the neighborhood play. Don't touch the base, and the guy is safe, end of story. It just makes something straightforward and turns it into a judgement call, especially now with replay.

I was at the game and it sounded like the ball hit the bat. I didn't see the best replay on the scoreboard, but you could hear a sound of ball hitting bat when the pitch came in.

Yeah, no idea how they missed that one.

It hit the catchers glove. There is a replay angle where the bat and ball path are parallel to each other, and the ball is 3 inches below the bat.

Not sure if anyone may know the answer to this.

Marte got hit in the first and then Rizzo got hit in the second and both benches were warned. Is it then up to the discretion of the umpire for ejections? Rizzo was hit again later in the game and two Pirates (Mercer & Martin) were hit but no one was ejected. Does anyone know the rules after warnings have been issued?

I believe it's always up to the umpires discretion for ejections, even if warnings are given out.

I'm not sure why warnings were issued at all. Marte gets hit a lot, and Morton hits a lot of lefties. It's not uncommon to see Marte get hit and Morton his someone in the same game.
