Chase is definitely going to outperform that return, but I’m thinking the team is likely just glad to be done with him. Some have thought for a while that Chase is more about the glamour of being a football player than actually playing. Not sure I buy that, but there are some things that point to that.

My only problem with dealing BOTH players, is that you can’t reasonably expect an early second round pick and a late third round pick to replace both of them in the starting lineup. Even more than that, you likely aren’t getting 75% of them out of that return most likely. These are lottery picks for all intents and purposes.

One of them deserved the franchise tag to stick around for another year.
