Yeah, he had major leverage. Caleb can't go back to USC and if he sits out a year, it just delays his big payday by a year. He would have to refuse to have dinner with the front office. Skip workouts. Not answer calls. He'd have to be a complete ass for Chicago to cave.
elway would have been a great pitcher if he went that way.williams has to play football unless his major from college is great.

You’re going to get robbed to move up. If you move up, the goal for poles is to make sure he leaves you with nothing good, so he can earn us the number 1 pick again next year.

Hmmm man. Are you suggesting the Bears fans aren't all in on Caleb, that for the right compensation they'll spin the block with Fields again?

the bears are worse than the redskins at drafting talent lately.

Agreed 100%

I still ask the question, if someone is that unprofessional, do you really want them as your franchise qb?

What would prevent them in doing the same type of thing when it was time for a contract extension?

Sitting out a year doesn't change anything. Whoever drafts him still retains his right the next year.
Exactly. He has no leverage.

Meant to say Caleb has no leverage. Typo

The only reason i won't be mad if they trade up is if they are 100% convinced he is the guy. For instance i thought trading up for micah parsons was a no brainer, but we didn't. So, looking at it glass half full, if the Bears aren't trying to rob us at gunpoint to move up, you gotta do it. I'm still ok with Maye or Daniels though
While we all hope this new regime is competent n on their toes. History has shown us time n time again. That the worst fuck ups of the last 30 years. Occured cuz whatever FO was runnin things at the time was 100% convinced it was the right move.

Chicago, he's all yours. Good Luck.
I think Caleb can play, I just worry about the asking price and of he's going to get caught up with being a celebrity more than a QB.

My concern is his need for attention off the field. This is just one display of it. It screams "look at me" syndrome.

so i just read some of this GQ article, and Caleb is in agreement with his Dad's comments. he hints at not wanting to play for Chicago because he's always gotten to choose where he goes to play. This is one case where i think the money, and popularity have watered down his fire to lead a franchise. The article said he grew up in Bowie and then moved to uptown -- But i don't know anywhere in NW where your boys won't continuously clown you for agreeing to wear a caramel table cloth with a zipper.
