Can I get some Jabril Cox on 3rd & long situations and get Barton off the field! Seems the defensive coaching staff is just being resistant to making adjustments that are needed. The complaint prior to this season was our offense could not score and the defense was required to carry an ineffective offense. Well, the offense has turned in 3 solid performances and the defense cannot stop anyone.

at the time of the draft I did not know they had a plan for Butler to be a good part of this defense. By taking Martin 2nd round I thought they viewed Butler as a backup player with limited snaps. That is just the opposite now. It's pretty tough to justify the Martin pick now. I thought he was going to take Mccanns snaps and Mccann had alot of snaps for us last year hence the 2nd round selection.

Martin will hopefully contribute to the team for many years to come.

Butler hasn't looked great either. I didn't get the pick then, and do not get it still. We are hurting in several areas of need. The evaluation of Davis was marginal, the pick of Mathis head scratching and now Martin. Hmmm...

This is a must win game. You must beat the teams worse than you. This is also a trap game That this franchise has succumbed to many times. Rivera needs to keep this team focused. Do not overlook this game.

Young's name wasn't on the players who graded out under 50% list.

Though I can't imagine he was supposed to take the outside looping move that he did on that 5 yd TD run either. So it's hard to outright dismiss the he's doing his own thing accusation.

I know but apparently there was an offseason plan for Butler or Martin was so far behind in camp plus the injury they couldn't trust him playing over Butler right now. Maybe that changes in the future. The way i understood the Mathis pick was for DT depth this is before we got Ridgeway. and they felt they were going to lose Payne via FA. But yes, they should have addressed oline. I think Davis was flying up draft boards at the time like Forbes did this year b/c of his athletic ability.
