Didn't he give up the homer?
Well too be fair hes looked good against everyone else besides Davis, and Davis usually crushes us.
That is what I said. Yes he gave up a home run, but Davis usually crushes us, outside Davis he looks aight tonight.

I didn't pay attention that it was Davis. My bad.

Damn good win!

Haniger is turning into an all-star and this team is.........:rolleyes2:..........just might be better than we thought.

We could dissect every move by DiPoto thus far, but the bad moves aside there's no doubt he has put the best lineup together we've seen in YEARS!

It's time to get healthy and force teams to keep up with us for a change, GO M's!

Hell of a throw by Lucroy. Can't really blame Heredia on that.

Was a massively botched hit and run. Wasn't Heredia's fault at all. I think today's game was an audition between Romine and Motter and after today I'd say Motter.

But great game, nice seeing Seager and Vogelbach come through. Obviously Mitch as well, curious to where he hits in the order once Cruz comes back. I know I'm out on my own on this but I'd like him to hit in the 2 hole.

Probably goes to the 6 hole, which is crazy to think about

Tough issue. It really doesn't matter between the two of them, but I think I'd prefer Motter because he has better base-running skills than Romine. Romine offers more experience and versatility, but Motter has more value as a runner which can matter in late game situations.

I think that is where he will go too, back to the old lineup but just seems crazy they move him from 6 to 4, he produces then move him back.

Yea they like their lefty righty order. I would have liked to have Haniger in the 5 hole then move Seager to the 6

Well roster wise they have tough decisions which is why I think they held Cruz and Gamel back even though both are ready. They have Motter/Romine, Vogelbach, Ichiro/Heredia to send down.

I know I got into this debate on another thread but I don't care about the L/R. They are professionals, if they can't hit against a lefty releiver they shouldn't be an everyday starter. Just as lefty releivers who can't get righties out shouldn't be in the big leagues. Lefties get shafted on analytics since teams went with "specialists"

The Ichiro thing is a real quagmire. I hate the signing because I anticipate he won't be worthy of keeping on the roster, but it would be really shitty to cut him for obvious reasons. I'm rooting for him simply because I would hate to see him get DFA'd, which I think will inevitably happen.

I am old school and I like the L/R lineup if all things are equal. There is nothing like having your final inning with 3 lefties due up and they bring their lefty specialist. You can say they should hit still, but stats show since the beginning of baseball that the lowest avg against is lefty on lefty.

Same here - each of those 25 man roster spots is highly coveted. You cannot just jam an aged and borderline useless / inneffective Ichiro into one of those spots before the start of the season. Nearly every at bat is a rinse - repeat of the previous ... a weak slapped ground ball to an infielded for an easy out. That is when he actually makes contact with the ball. His strike out total is near the same as his base hit total for the season ( 5 hits in 25 at bats )

Last nites win was a surpise. After I saw 5 straight goose egg 0s on the board after that nice quick 2 run 1st... I thought we were gonners. Big bats did the job late in the game

Our bottom of the line up is not getting any production at all nearly every game. Top 1/2 is carrying the team

This teams line up will scare some opposing pitching staffs when we get Nelly back and Zunino Haniger and Gamel make up the bottom of the order

a win is a win ... we will take it

Good to see Vogelbach get on the board with his first career HR. That one sorta had the feel of a clunker until Mitch pulled through and gave us the lead for good. It's sounding like Nellie will be back tonight, which will be a beautiful thing. Hopefully Gamel tomorrow or Monday.
