3 hopes for today: 1) another good outing from Marco, 2) continued success with RISP, and 3) no more injuries.

I like our chances today

KC has really been struggling to score runs thus far.
We should do OK this series with even marginal pitching, provided the offense keeps scoring 5 or so runs a game

Even though the Royals are worse then previous years, I'm just hoping the M's don't get swept.
Even 1 win puts them at .500 with Zunino, Cruz and potentially Gamel returning this weekend.

I am curious to see how Marco pitches in his second start. Also I really want Paxton to get on track we need him to be good. Felix... just don't be a complete shit show.

I think we could get 2 of these games.

How Gonzo does today is going to tell me what kind of season to expect from him. He and Leake seem to me to be the most consistent thus far, and that's not saying a whole lot. The Paxman has got to get it together and be more consistent if our starters are going to pull along this team. Forget about Felix doing a lot for us imo. Our offense is shaping up to be pretty decent but our starters are the big concern for me and I'm not totally sold on the pen either.

This team is just unreal with these injuries, but at least we will now get to see what Vogelbach may be able to do as an every day or close to every day player...I can see Motter getting some time at 1B as well. And I'm thankful this didnt happen to Haniger or Cano -- we're going to lose the guy who was hitting worse than pretty much every other player in the lineup, though he was playing good defense and had a huge hit in the last game.

It was only a matter of time someone else would be headed to the DL, but luckily this time it was someone that needed a break even though the skipper wouldn't pull the plug. I like the idea of Vogel-bomb getting his chance because without this injury he wasn't seeing a starter role any time soon.

Yep, and just think how badly the baseball gods punish us when Nellie, Gamel, and Z all return. No way are we allowed to have 8 or even 7 of 9 starters all play at one time.

We should start making bets on who will be next.

I don't want to be responsible for a specific player, but it's hard to imagine that the next injury isn't a starter. I mean, the baseball gods have tried their best to wipe out the lineup so why wouldn't they target our SP's next?

Well no doubt the baseball gods have a lot of experience hammering our starters so it would be a piece of cake for them to easily switch gears from position players to the starting pitchers. Odds are greater for Felix or the Paxman but big hopes that our starting pitchers get a break this year. Time will tell.

HEY- How about the BEAUTIFUL weather in the Puget Sound area today?? Actually got "warm" outdoors. :thumb: :happyshake: Had to clean the dust off the ole sunglasses:hardy:

Game over already? No big surprise.

Given the last starts Paxton and Felix had, I can only surmise...

HERE WE GO AGAIN

Well I'll be damned. The Royals were having a really tough time offensively, and I just figured out why. It's because they hadn't played the Mariners yet. Sheesh, gonna be a real fun season with the boys of summer.

Pretty sure the Giants scored more runs in their two games against the Mariners than they have in their other 6 games so far as well. Granted all of those are against the Dodgers, but still.
