What a break for Seag. Hope he can take advantage of it.

Nice start 2-0... Duffy almost at 30 pitches... would be nice to get one more.

We need Motter-POP back cause that was a waisted opportunity. Oh well, 2-0 is a great start for The Eagle!

Did someone tell Paxton he doesn't have to pitch as shitty as Duffy in an effort to make the game fair?

I'm kind of impressed with Frietas (sp) he's doing a pretty good job filling in for the Z man. His toss to 3rd for the out was great and now he knocks a double. No complaints here.

Now that was VERY disappointing. Vogelbach with the sacks juiced and one out hits into a DP. Was hoping for more from him. Either play him consistently or expect this kind of results I think.

I'm thinking Servishit should start doing something instead of watching the shit hit the fan. At least get someone up in the pen dude.

Glad to see the Pax man didn't get rattled with the hit and error and was able to close out that inning with another season high K.

Vogelbach GIDP on the first pitch and it's the manager's fault? This place is something.

Anyway, Pax is doing his part. Unfortunately he gives up 2 runs on the only well hit ball all day, but the bats need to pick him up. 10 Ks ties a career high as well.

Great timing on that HR.

Yea it was a very well timed HR. I will take a Kyle Seager struggling OBP and very few hits as long as he is going yard at the right time.

Hopefully a 2 run cushion is enough for Nicasio / Diaz duo and we jet home 6-4.

Much better start than last years 2-8 after 10 games to start the season

Was Nicasio even up and throwing in the pen before Seager hit his bomb in the 8th inning with I think 2 outs ?

He was anything but sharp with his 1st dozen or so pitches ( missing badly ) As if he did not get a chance to properly get ready to come in to pitch the 8th inning.

Seager picked him up with a couple nice defensive plays to close out the inning.

Hang on ! Its Diaz time ...

Lets hope he keeps dealing

Nice save by Diaz. he is just wild enough that it changes the batters eye level constantly so they never really know where the next pitch will be: up down in or away

Nicasio on the other hand has more control as far as where he wants to throw his pitches as he approaches things to attack the hitter. But he just stays in that zone. Like the guy he walked in the 8th. 6 of the 7 pitches or so were all down and away to the righty hitter. Of course not for strikes as it was a base on balls. But it was obvious they were only working that small portion of the plate against that guy.

Yea I am sure they have a plan for each hitter as its discussed well in advance with the pitching coach and certain hitters have trouble certain parts of the strike zone. Just seems the smart thing to do is bust a fast ball up and in on occasion vs just 7 straight pitches all working down and away

never the less a win is a win. Need to take 2/3 against Oakland and just hope to split the 4 game set with Houston as hot as they are playing

Yea its pretty much a swing and a prayer when he is dialed in and on his game.
Its not easy to strike out the high % of MLB hitters that he does.

And I doubt many hitters are real eager to step into the box with him on the mound
