OAKLAND, Calif. -- In the final days of the season, a dramatic race heats up between a certain first ballot Hall of Famer and the Rangers' Rougned Odor.
That's good, right?
No, in this case - with the title of Most Wasteful Run Producer at stake - it is not good at all.
In a fit of failed swings, Odor stranded six runners in the Rangers' costly 4-1 loss to Oakland on Friday night. In doing so, he moved into second in the American League in most runners stranded with 256. He trails the Angels' Albert Pujols, a magnificent player in steep decline, by 10.
The 0 for 3 night dropped him to .185 with runners in scoring position this season, the seventh-lowest RISP average in the AL. With two outs and RISP, it's even a tick lower: .183. And that's for the fifth-most two-out RISP at-bats in the league (71).
Good post. Bad news.
