Tubbs - please ask my ex wife if I could get my convertible back in exchange for that boob job I paid for she's showing off on your avatar ?
Votto only gets a pitch a game to drive. I'm hoping he takes 200 walks and hits .340 and Phillips keeps making them pay. It will all work out just fine.
Leake impressed me big time in his last start. Came out, got banged around but figured it out, saved the pen and kept us within striking distance...zactly what a 5th starter is supposed to do.
I have a different perspective ( hoping he changes it). I think most games Leake pitches, the best he can do is last long enough for 3 relievers to be able to have a chance to catch up. Besides, 7th round picks are supposed to be 5th starters. I want a 1st pick to be a top of the rotation pitcher. That's not Leake's fault, but just saying...
Leakes trajectory and "change" in pitch speed reminds me of batting practice..or the old USSA softball leagues...I keep expecting one of these guys to take a couple of skips toward the mound and tomahawk one to Newport.
Evidently Jose Fernandez has some bad-ass stuff but could get a little on the wild side. So I vote we walk on the wild side and light up the smokestacks in center field. Maybe even let somebody win that Tundra for a change.
I like Cingrani's pre-game attitude. They asked him what his goals were today (dipschidt question, IMO) and he jokingly said "perfect game" ? Then gave the double-A cliché, "Just want to give my team a chance to win". He's got a big-baratone baddazz voice. I'm hoping he has a big day.
