My first reaction wss this is s great trade for Portland
Ayton, Williams, 3 firsts, 2 pick swaps and they can still flip Brogdon.

But people were saying the Heat poo poo platter was the best they could get…lol

I actually like Herro.

But they didn’t want nor need him.

They actually got young guys at positions of need.

Grant is gonna get dealt for more assets too in January.

Blazers did very well.

Basically just undid the smart trade

But yeah trading bob is something

And Portland can probably flip bob for a first if they are team ayton

To me they have to flip him. You can't start both he and Ayton. Spacing would be nasty

Oh yeah. I hope Cronin asks for an extension soon because his picks are end of the decade

But man he’s set up well if sharpe and scoot are who they think they are

You just need to pray Zingers gives you 65 games.

My bigger concern for him is games 80+

Aka may and June

Dude has never played that long

In theory, I love the trade

But that’s my fear is he breaks down in round 2 and they lose To a trash sixers team

risky move for boston
I agree.

That said... the C's just got rid of 2 pretty significant injury risks in Brogdon and RWIII...

So there are risks either way.

I really like Holiday. C's seemingly need to make another move to bolster their front court, though.

Great trade for both teams this morning. Congrats to the Cs fans who post here and the Trailblazers fans who don’t post here, if they even really exist.

Trading RWIII away is a significant risk... C's look thin in the frontcourt...

... but Jrue is a significant upgrade over Brogdon too.

Need some time to digest this. But I do really like Holiday.

Wow.
Devil’s advocate…:

You have to pay Tatum.

You would probably have to pay Williams in a year, two max.

What is he really?

Super sub or high level starting center?

Too many injuries, not enough offense to justify paying him, Zingers, Tatum, Brown.

You gotta pay Jrue too.

But, maybe a shorter deal?

To me, Time Lords fate was sealed with the Porzingis deal because Al is still useful on a excellent deal.

Jrue is a win now move and I love it.

They always were

It’s basically

Brog
Bob
Smart

For

Zinger & jrue
Zinger is underrated rim protection and he spaces the floor better than Time Lord ever could. Celtics system you need a 5 who can space.

I said when this cba came out that centers were going to get crushed

I think this is the start of it

Wow.

When I said in a different thread a little bit ago about Holiday in Boston I didn't know about this trade. Now losing Marcus doesn't sting as much. As far as R. Williams. Great when he's on the court but injuries are always a concern with him.

Holiday is an upgrade at PG. Better scorer than Marcus.

Yep. RWIII is a legit 5 in the league but I always felt like he didn’t felt Celtics basketball and what they want to do.
