Is Nolan Patrick a real stud?

where does he rank among the last few drafts in overall picks?

He missed the cutoff for last year by like 4 days, so it's a fair comparison to last year's draft. He would have gone 6-10. So not a guaranteed superstar but certainly top line potential.

the team needs centers in the worst way possible. if i had to make my team from scratch i build it down the middle.

the team does have a lot of centers but i dont think any legit #1 center is patrick that? i dunno but can't hurt to have another one.


mcloed zacha quinville and throw in patrick. one of them has to pan out dont they?


i will say this too the devils have the av's 3rd round pick which could be #1 in the third round. thats a pretty nice pick to have. sucks that the devils gave up their 3rd for tulsty thanks lou!


if teams want that #1 or #2 pick the devils should listen to offers. this franchise can't wait for a entire rebuild. if we can get 2 legit proven nhl top 6 players we would be set pretty. fill out the rest of the draft with prospects

Let's say we wind up with the 3 or 4 pick. Avs likely get number 1, that Finnish defenseman will be there when we pick. Would they move Duchene for our pick and change? Severson and say a pick or 2? Or are we better served keeping our pick?

It really shouldn't cost more then our top pick. Shedding a 6 million dollar contract for a top 3 pick in the draft? Chances are duchense would walk from there when he hit ufa. The #3 pick is way better the. What they would've got for him at the deadline.



Only way I do it is if there isn't a legit franchise player to take there. I'm no scout so I don't know.

Heck the #4 pick Larson got us the former #1 straight up in hall. No sense it won't happen again. But I will say this if a deal like this exsists I wonder if the owners would make it. Add an extra 6 million to the salary cap?

Duchene scares me little bit, just because he's already going to be 27. if he was 24 I would say definitely. But you don't want your cornerstone center to be 30 when you're starting to be competetive again. If you could get mackinnon for that I would do it in a heartbeat.

I didn't realize he was 27. To be fair Cory though is 30 already and chances are by the time we are competitive hall will be 27 and a ufa.

Way I look at it the player we draft might turn into a player just as good as duchense in what 3 years? If this draft had a generational talent ok keep the pick. But if the best player in this class would've been the 6th best taken in last years draft? That's not what this team needs another panel zacha. We need x amount of goals and offense


But your right him being 27 is a concern but also should lower his trade value. Hey we all thought Eric stall was washed up but he's putting up 60pts in the wild.

Shero has a rediculous amount of cap space and a crazy number of draft picks. This is where he can prove he's a great GM or just a lucky one who just inherited Crosby, Fluery, Malkin and Letang and added complementary pieces

have to win the lotto or have the yotes pass us thats the only way. also theres rumblings that patrick and his injury history which is pretty extensive is going to maybe cost him the top spot.

Need to lose out, We're a point ahead of Vancouver with same number of games and tied with Arizona who played 1 more game. Can't get anymore points and need to hope for another win from each of those teams.

Yeah I noticed that too today. I haven't been paying too much attention lately for obvious reasons. Can pick as high as 2 and no worse than 4.

That win against Philly cost us a top 3 pick. Tied with Arizona, they get the tiebreaker and we beat Vancouver by 1 point. So we wind up 4th worst, plus Vegas. Let's hope we don't drop out of top 5.

if they didn't get that extra point in overtime the "win" they would've finished 2nd worst in the nhl. really fucking stupid and thats typical devils doing all they can to hurt their chances on getting talent that will help them
