Sadly, I believe he will be here to end his contract. I think once again the FO will have a talk with him. This one will be about listening to the new bench coach and trusting his opinion no matter how different it is from Wash's gut.

I think you make half this stuff up as you see fit.
But...Least you have 5 or 6 here on the edge of their seats.

It's like Groundhog Day the movie with this wash stuff and yet I haven't seen one name mentioned as the sure fire replacement to championships.

You say a whole lot without saying anything. It's your specialty.

That's bunk. Mickey Mantle didn't platoon in CF. Joe Dimaggio didn't platoon. Yogi Berra didn't even platoon.

Are you telling me that the game was easier 50 years ago with double headers and train rides?

You are the one wanting to sign Garza just to spend money when their is no value improvement. You want to upgrade the win potential ... then figure out a way to get a premier COF (and I don't mean the oft injured dude in MIA). Then you play Gentry across all three OF spots.

But no way put them in a platoon. You STILL have not given us an example of ONE platoon that works even for veterans. For young guys (and not sure Gentry qualifies as young any more) ... platoons kill any capability from the RH bat due to lack of PT.

Berra platooned with Hector Lopez in LF on several occasions toward the end of his career. It was Berra who was in LF when Bill Mazeroski hit his famous 7th game HR.

nevermind....hammer away on washington. That superior talent point wasn't working to well for you and Lord knows you haven't a clue for a replacement

Might as well fire him now. His seat will be blistering next year.

JD is taking over, and I'm not sure it's a good plan for the club. I want to move on from Wash, but I think he gets another year. JD will make a splash in the off season and we will have a better team. That might end up giving Wash more years.

Wash won't listen to any bench coach but,

a shot has been fired
Jackie Moore obviously looks at this as a firing. It's really splitting hairs if it's a firing or not. They just didn't renew their contracts. Hopefully it will be seen by everyone else as a wake up call. Shocked that Mags will be around, but I don't know how much we can blame him for having to deal with that lineup.

I didn't see anything of him.

Colby is always going to look at his glass as half full, and he feels he can pitch at the MLB level for 2 to 3 more years. I'm not counting on this, but will have a wait and see attitude until spring training.

before they shut him down, he was throwing 3-5 MPH below what he use to throw. he was throwing batting practice speed

Haaaaa ... only you and me remember. The Greatest Home Run Ever.

Bet it gets lots of play in PIT the next week or more.

Was thinking of Berra at C as opposed to Berra in LF. Hector Lopez ... now there is a name everyone has forgotten.

You betcha. Gonna be an interesting off season.

hey darryl, where did you hear "he ain't happy about it"? It seems like this thing just broke, or are you assuming he's mad, which I agree...he probably is upset

Wash did say he was worried about his job in Sept, which means to me, at least...there hadn't been any reassurance from the FO at that point.

Just to be clear, I'm not one that would rejoice in Washington leaving, I really do like the dang guy.
I just don't trust him any more.
And there's always the question of... is someone new going to be better? Do we want years of musical chair Managers, ugh...frightening.

Kinda why I wanted Girardi, I don't want an experiment.
I want a proven guy...and I don't understand why everyone assumes Maddux is an MLB manager, how would anyone know that?
Anyway, good luck to Anderson and Moore.

Get some fire-power JD. It's about you now, make this team better.

Well Wash himself was an experiment. He wasn't exactly proven. That's why I would like a guy like Dave Martinez. Someone who has spent time as a bench coach and has experience under a manager that we respect.

Sounds like there's been some people trying to cause discourse. Time for JD to clean house.
