He was floating for most of this game and the last one in Boston. Honestly he has not been good at all for a few games now. With, what I'm guessing was an injury to Desjardins, Thornton was slotted between McCarthy and Sheppard who both had pretty good games. Hertl and Hamilton were bench warmers for most of the 3rd as McLellan went to three lines.

I think a little of it has to do with Burns being out of the line up generating space for Hertl too, thats been a huge loss. But it looks like hes getting a little timid as well, the beating he took in the first 7 games is probably catching up to him and probably isnt completely healthy

I think most of it has to do with Burns being out.

They kept up the pressure the whole 3rd period, and did not 'hang on' to a 2 goal lead. Even had they not dominated the last 4 minutes, it was still impressive after Couture scored that 2nd goal.
