The "fun" part of the draft is that the team could have everything right and still draft wrong. How many teams wished they hadn't skipped over Buster Posey or Mike Trout? The only thing that would have really bothered me is if the Giants drafted someone merely to save money, thereby skipping more talented players. Of course, 5 years down the road, if the that less talented player turned out to be the more talented player, the Giants could have been considered geniuses for skipping other players for him.

IIRC, Carlos Correa was a shock first pick when Houston took him. Turned out that had a clue...

Correa was a cost-savings pick so they could take Lance McCullers later in the draft.

On the other side of the coin, Mickey Moniak was a cost savings pick so they could take Kevin Gowdy (and others)

He's exceeded my expectations, I figured he'd be well off the team by now. It's not his fault that he needs to be the Ace of this poor staff. He's a back-end guy and been solid as that
