"But i think the problem when we talk about GOAT is that we don't just want to take the player with the best career, but also whose talent matches it... and IN NO WAY is tom brady a top 5 talented QB"

Yes, even if Brady is a top 10 talented QB (which could be argued), add that to his career, which is arguably the best ever and that is top 2 no less.

Guess definitions of GOAT are different. You want to say Brady has the most accomplishments that's fine. My definition is starting a team from scratch who am I taking. It isn't Brady

Montana, Marino, Brady, Rodgers...it would probably work out fine no matter which of those guys you had

Jimmy Crapolo was 2 - 0 and completed 68% of his passes over 500 yards, 4 TD's and 0 INT's in two starts this season.

The league is different now than when Marino played, to not acknowledge that when trying to compare the two is ridiculous. There are so many advantages that surround Brady that Marino didn't have its crazy.

This misconception that Brady has shit offensive weapons is fucking ridiculous. He has players that fit into Belichick's system. Catch six yard passes, don't fumble, yards after the catch.

He doesn't have shit weapons but I can name a ton of QB's this year and throughout history who have done less with more. Yes, the era is different that is why comparing in general is difficult but I will choose a great regular season QB AND a QB that has ice in his veins than just an all-time great regular season performer that might be the most talented QB of all-time.

System or not, Brady is a legend. Marino could be the best talent ever but those Dolphins teams had some pretty good defenses and it wasn't like Marino was working with shit either. Different era, but the bottomline is he didn't perform up to his talent in the playoffs half those years. Looking at that alone, I can't put him in front of Brady.

Well when you are talking about the best, there wouldn't be a wrong choice. I mean if you put an all-time great team around any top 5 QB and the team will perform at the highest level. I mean look what Brady did with Moss. BUT there will still be key moments in an all-time greats game and I will take Montana and Brady over Marino bc they know how to win games when it counts the most. Plain and simple.

Now in these drafts, the players are so great, I don't think a QB determines a game IMO. I rarely look at that unless the difference is huge....say McNair vs Marino for example LOL

I'm not a Patriots or Brady fan by any stretch, but I keep coming back to what he has to work with. He has to be the best ever. If you made a list of the best teams in the Super Bowl era, there are probably 8-10 teams that would have an argument. The Steelers of the 70's had, what, 10 HOFer's? The Montana/Young Niners, 5-6? The 90's Cowboys? I personally think they would beat the Patriots, but the fact that you'd even have to think about it lets you know how great Brady is. Name the ten greatest Cowboys from those teams...Emmitt, Irvin, Aikman, Allen, Deion, Haley, DWoodson, Novacek, Norton, EWilliams......now name the 10 best players off this Patriots team. Brady..... ...... ......

In Tom Brady's 34 post season games the Patriots have allowed 30+ points three times
In Dan Marino's 18 post season games the Dolphins allowed 30+ points six times

Did you know Marino led the league in Sk% 10 times. 10 times. Never above 4.8 for his entire career. Brady's average was 4.8 for his career. That is some damn good o-line play.

Do you really think the Patriots have never had players better than Haley, Woodson, Novacek, Norton, Williams?

Also, you keep leaving Belichick out of the discussion.

It's called one of the fastest releases in the history of football...

Cowboys had Jimmy Johnson....My point is, yeah, the Patriots have had teams with Moss, Gronk, Harrison, Wilfork, Seymour, Law, Milloy....thing is, they won again last night, and none of those guys were in the building. Pretty impressive

As the saying goes, the QB is given too much credit when the team wins and too much blame when they lose, it's almost as if that was written with Tom Brady in mind.

When Brady retires, Bill will retire. Book it

I'm not sure why Jimmy Garapolo is the next greatest QB of all time...
You keep going back to the Patriots 3-1 without Brady this season. Take it all the way

Bill Belichick overall record...238-115

Bill Belichick record WITHOUT Tom Brady(including the 3-1 this season)....54-66.....

In other words, without Brady, Belichick is Rex Ryan....

I'd absolutely be willing to bet Tom Brady on the Browns wouldn't have ended much differently
