I don't blame Buck. Ubaldo was lights out dominant and our best pitcher for the last month.

He has been unhittable and his win versus Toronto last week is the only reason Baltimore got this far.

I blame Adam Jones, Machado, Schoop....and the merry band of free swinging idiots.

Fuck Adam Jones especially, because he is a dick as well. He is a total douche at the stadium.

But then it's the old question: did the bats suck for the O's, or were the Jays pitchers dominating? Perhaps some of each but it's not all Baltimore's offense choking.

But seriously, there's gonna be some talk of Showalter getting axed for this. I don't think it'll happen but a lot of that fan base is going to be PISSED.

To be fair, Ubaldo did give up the first two baserunners awfully quickly. He wasn't going to be able to get someone warmed up in time for Encarnacion. A similar thing happened a while back when Price was cruising against the Mariners and imploded very quickly. A lot of Sox fans bitched about Farrell leaving Price in (myself included), but Price had a low pitch count and the hits came very fast.

Of course, that was a regular season game in late July/August. This was a one-game playoff. How do you not use your best pitcher? Should be a fireable offense.

In that situation you have to pull the trigger, regardless if someone is warmed or not imo. Granted hingsight but still.

Before last night, Encarnacion was batting 219 vs Ubaldo. Buck went with his gut. It is what it is.

O's went 6-14 from mid-August on at Camden Yards. If their "fanbase" gave a fuck they would've showed up for a few of those games and maybe give their team a home field advantage.

Had a .360 OBP against him. If that was the "strategic thinking", why not just walk EE and pitch to JB who's been brutal vs. Ubaldo?

Ubaldo is such a good guy

He was so dominant down the stretch after a few of the drunken dickhead Baltimore fans cruelly turned on him with merciless booing and talk radio bashing him relentless.

I hope he is not the loser.

He is kind of the "feel good" story of the Orioles with his 2nd half turnaround.

Ouch. Not so feel good anymore, huh?

I could careless what he was hitting. You go with your best. There is no defending that decision.

So long 2016.

I do feel a badly for you and other Baltimore fans. I've been there. In 2013, the Indians went nuts with a 21-6 September, and won their last 10 games of the season to not only grab a Wild Card, but also bully their way into home field advantage.

I spent $500 on a couple of seats about five rows back from home plate. I was so amped for that game. The atmosphere at the park was amazing. Then they lost. Fuckin' Danny Salazar.

I think Machado is a whiney bitch too. And on the other side, Joey Bats and Donaldson are insufferable twats.

That was an impressive collection of players that I think are dickbags last night.

If Farrell doens't take the title this year....and they give him the axe Grady Little style, I'd LOVE for Buck to come to Boston.

Guy is easily one of the 5 best in the game.

Disagree. If he's not warmed properly not only is he a risk to be ineffective, but also to get hurt.

Now why they didn't just walk him again to get to Bautista is another question.

Based on the O's fans on here, they're just fine with his decision lol

Not to defend Bucky here but even if JB had historically been butt vs. Ubaldo, it's the postseason and he's still one of the more dangerous hitters in baseball.

Overrated Texas team???? Didn't know baseball had rankings - there is an ESPN Power Poll which has the Red Sox #1 and Rangers #2 in the AL. Not sure how you can say the best record after 162 games is overrated. Neither your O's or Blue Jays have a chance against Texas.

Over the entire 2016 season, they scored eight runs more than they allowed. A ridiculous 36-11 record in one run games is what got them the best record in the AL. A case could be made that Seattle and Houston were better teams than the Rangers in 2016.

My opinion is that the Rangers are a better team than their pythag record suggests, but not as good as their actual record suggest. Somewhere in between, and definitely a good team. If I was going to seed the AL Playoff teams, it be Red Sox, Blue Jays, Rangers, Orioles, Indians (their rotation is FUBAR).

Anything can happen in the playoffs, so this very well could be the Rangers' year. The flip side of that is they could get swept out of the ALDS. We'll have to see. To say the Blue Jays have no chance against the Rangers is silly.
