I'm going Siemian. I'm not going to let one bad play take away a lot of the good that he has done in practice and even in preseason. I mean he has had a couple of touchdowns dropped on some nice corner of the end zone type throws. Yes he kept it much more safe this past week until the interception but I just think he shows the best command of the 3. I didn't like how he responded to the interception after which is why I am only like 50% Siemian, 40% Sanchez, and 10% Lynch right now.

Understand I loved what I saw from Lynch and I think we have an incredible QB on our hands but I also saw a guy that just isn't quite ready for the top defenses to be coming after him. He needs at least another month of practice and watching game film before I think he would maybe be ready. The talent is there no questioning that just needs some more time.

Yeah that's the way to do it. Cut our only QB with any starting experience in the national football league! Wooo hoooo.

yeah Sanchez is not good, but you can't cut him right now with no experience other then him at the QB position on the roster.

You don't go into a season with the total amount of career starts with your QB tandem being 0. Not real bright to do.

I just can't wait until Paxton is ready.

It's sorta like driving the old beat up car knowing the new one is going to arrive soon but it can't come soon enough.

P.S. Who else are we gonna sign with NFL experience?

Good luck finding a guy worth signing to learn the offense in a short time. By the time the new guy signed off the street gets the offense down Paxton will be ready to start.

This isn't a nintendo game. Easier said then done. I think we have to bounce with what we have and get Paxton ready ASAP.

Btw, anyone remember the year Sanchez was in the draft (different coaching staff obviously) but we showed pretty good interest in Sanchez leading up to the draft.

To me Sanchez when he was a rookie ran into the same situation that Lynch is now in just not being ready but the Jets caving to pressure to get him out there as soon as possible. He developed some terrible habits that still to this day he does. I think a year on the bench would have done him some good. Too many of these young QB's just get thrown out way too soon and ruin them. I know the whole hey they are football players they should be able to handle it but every one can be rattled. There are very few QB's who are ready to go out week 1 of their rookie year and perform well. I think a lot of good QB's have been ruined because of teams trying to rush them too quickly.

No matter who starts we have to have someone with experience on the roster. If that be the starter or the backup.

Paxton needs to keep soaking up the information and learn as quickly as possible which according to Kubes he is doing, while Siemian or Sanchez stop gap it.

I guess I hope for Seimian or Sanchez. Not Lynch. Not yet... (still weaseling out).
Not really ready to commit until after the 3rd preseason game.

YES!

I think we may all answer this differently after the next PS game. Ill start another poll next week when we see how the 3 play after the Rams game.

There is some talk that if Sanchez does not win the starting job that the Broncos would actually think about cutting him. They like the development of Lynch so far and think they would be fine if he had to go in. So we could actually see this team start the year with 2 QB's with only 1 NFL snap between them. Saves the team quite a bit of money for Sanchez to be gone and they could then go and lock up Sanders long-term.

Seems odd that we would have 2 QB's with no NFL experience. From a cap stand point it makes sense, and it would also give us our draft pick back. I would be interested to see if any vet QB gets cut. I sorta figured Sanchez if he falls to #3 could be cut but not at the start of the season until we know what we have at QB, but at the same time I am pretty sure other then his contract if Sanchez is on the roster week 1 we lose the draft pick for him, so if we really don't like him maybe the draft pick factor will fall into place there as well. (Could be wrong maybe we owe them a pick either way) but I thought it was contingent on him making the week 1 roster.

If we do cut him I would expect us to look for someone with experience to come in.

I have never seen an NFL team start an NFL season having no experience at QB in regular season game. I don't exactly call 1 snap experience, so you know what I mean. :)

Kubiak has said that Siemian will start the third preseason game against the Rams. He also said that does not mean that Siemian is in the lead for the starting spot during the season. Not sure I believe that, though.

This kind of overreaction drives me nuts. Why would you want the Broncos to cut him? Even if he's not going to be the starter, he'd still be one of the better back up qb's in the league.

Well there are a few reasons...

1) Salary Cap. Right now Mark Sanchez is our 12th highest paid player on the team. If we cut him we save around $3.5 million. That kind of savings could be what helps us up the offer to Sanders and get him locked up long-term. That seems to be the last on the to-do list for Elway this off season.

2) If say they love what they are seeing in Lynch then it makes sense. If Sanchez gets booted down to 3rd string then it doesn't make as much sense to keep him around because even if you have an injury or if Siemian plays terrible Sanchez still isn't the next guy in.

3) As DC said draft pick. I do think we get our draft pick back if Sanchez is not on the 53-man roster week 1. Yes it is a 7th round pick which isn't worth much but sometimes that is what teams trade before those final cuts to make sure they get the player they want. So Broncos could see a team that is getting ready to cut say an OG that would add good depth to the Broncos. That team would be willing to trade them for a 7th round pick to at least get some kind of value.

4) It could be a huge boost of confidence to our young guys knowing the team trusts them that much that they are willing to cut the veteran.

5) Roster spot. With our team having so much depth at so many positions those rosters spots are pretty precious. So being able to keep another player that would actually stand a chance of playing and helping this team over that of a 3rd string QB that would sit on the bench makes sense.

Interesting today that at Kubiak's press conference he took the brunt of the blame for Siemian's pick-6. Said he called a terrible play and has to do a better job in that situation.
