He was 0-1 starting games for the 9ers last year. Only started the final week of the season vs the Rams when the 9ers rested their starters.

He did play in three 9ers victories, but threw 3 total passes for 2 completions during those three games

I am prone to a little hyperbole when guys sign elsewhere

Oh, nobody is signing Darnold as their future QB. A Darnold signing is a stop gap only. Still very much looking at QB early on. Darnold isn't a joke of an NFL QB like you have him out to be but he isn't anyone's long term solution. He is simply a stop gap who is ideally your #2. But in a team like the Vikings situation after losing Cousins you need to fill that spot with someone like a Darnold because if you pass and you don't get a QB early you are REALLY screwed.

For the record... I find it VERY unlikely that we will end up with any of the top 4 QB's. They likely all go in the top 8 and I don't think we will be able to move up for one.

I don't see it falling that way, but it is hard to tell - who might trade into that group to pick a QB.

Hope you are right.. I just have a strong opinion right now that we aren't getting one of the top 4 QB's. It may end up being Nix for us which I think you would be thrilled about.

I think BPA at 12 is going to be a non QB so we may have to make a move up or down if we want to make it work.

I just think it is going to be really hard for us to move up for one of the top 4 QB's this year. Williams, Maye, Daniels or McCarthy.

I think three go 1,2,3 and if not at least 1,2,4 and then after that the 4th one goes no later then 8 with a team moving up.. Could be us who knows but one thing is for sure.... Pretty darn sure at this point on March 12, 2024 we can't stay at 12 and get one of the top 4. Maybe that changes in the next month and a half.

To me if I had to put all my money one one likely FA signing this offseason it would have been Derrick Henry to the Ravens. Henry and Lamar in the same backfield just makes too much sense.

Could the Broncos get him for a 4th round pick ?

He may not seem like the prototypical Sean Payton QB, but his potential is untapped, and he is very bright
