• Slewfooted a team reporter while they got off the team bus in Columbus, causing severe physical and emotional trauma

• Did attend the pregame meal, but only drank vodka. No carbs. And sat next to a female team reporter (not the one he slewfooted) and offered to try her borscht

With regards to Perry it just goes to show how antiquated the NHL brass remains. If a player is old and has lots of PIMs in his career he's by default a "good, character vet" who "plays the right way" and will be "good to mentor the young players". Doesn't hurt if he's Canadian and not some kind of European fun boy, eh?

This same commissioner has also presided over four work stoppages during his tenure, denies the existence of CTE, and has implemented a hard salary cap which has done very little to stop player salaries from rising, but locks GM's hands when trying to make in-season trades.
