I don't normally root against players... but seeing Toney fail in a big way last night was delicious.

Dude has all-world ability... accompanied by a 10 cent head. Simple as that.

I also question his passion for the game.
I have to eat some crow. I think it was you I was talking to when I said that I thought he would have a plus year and a great career. He’s clearly not that guy.

lol... yeah, I remember that... I'm still waiting for later in the season to bump that thread.

If we get a combination of Toney doing awful and Waller having a great year... you're dead meat. :D

Agreed. I know Gibbs is a smaller guy, but gotta get him involved more. 6 YPC - would've had more and a TD if he didn't slip... and only 2 receptions? Gotta get him out there... After Jones' crappy performance he might just be with Seattle.

Just a matter of easing him in I think. He certainly showed he can be elusive and explosive, things that Montgomery doesn't bring.

I am thrilled with Hutchinson in that game. Chiefs did everything but penetrate is ass and he still got 3 QB hits. If anyone else on the dline shows up he will have monster year.

Imagine what he could've done if the RT was forced to line up properly and wait for the snap.

Kinda alluded to the same thing last night, but you know how the "experts" are...on AND off these boards...
I think anyone that believes the game does not end different with Kelce out there is crazy. I am happy for the win and signs of improved D, but neither team came away from that with a clear picture of their seasons.

That Lions team sure has some great, young talent... Their team reminds me of the Seahawks right now... Not sure how good they'll be but they have the foundations in place...

Laporta looks like he's going to be a very good TE for years to come... He was huge last night for the Lions... His run blocking was very good as well...

I read that the RT lineup uncalled the way he did let the Lions know when it was a pass or a run. If thay is true, then officials may have done us a small favor. Explains how every end around was for a significant loss.

Let’s maybe pump the brakes on the anointing of Goff. He led two scoring drives in the entire game. They played keep away from the Chiefs by sticking to the running game. He had 4-5 real nice throws but mostly what he’s always been…a game manager.
Who’s anointing him?

I simply stated he got a bad rap at the end of his Rams time, and some players fit better in other positions.

That’s it. No anointing.

He’s not Mahomes or Josh Allen, Burrow or Herbert. But he can win in this leave with the right system.

If Lions keep putting up points and he protects the ball as well as he has I have zero complaints. Don't need him to carry the team, just be a part of it.

Go Detroit! The win is good for the NFL. It's only the first game of the season and both teams made a lot of mistakes. I hope that Goff can lead the Lions to the playoffs.
