This is misleading. Watson's deal is fully guaranteed. Murray has about 160 million guaranteed. In the last two years of the deal, Murray is slated to make almost 75 million and would only cost 7 million against the cap if he were cut. It's basically a deal that would either be renegotiated if he is good or they will move on and eat a small amount of money.

Of course, but his overall contract value and annual average is higher by a very small margin, showing the leap frog trend. There's a reason that contract was 500K higher.

Watson's guarantee is going to complicate all QB contract negotiations now and in the near future. Thanks Cleveland.

The Browns are known for their innovative ways.... At times, it has created an unfair advantage that has threatened the competitive balance of the league. They must be stopped.

Say what you want about Baltimore ( it's a whole laundry list ), but kudos to them for refusing to be the Browns as far as this QB situation goes.
100%.

Just because one team shit the bed doesn't mean that everyone else needs to follow suit...

And here's the thing that pisses me off..... You just know it will work out for them. They are a well-run organization and they always end up okay. I figure they are going to luck into a QB in this draft and they'll just reboot around the new guy. If that organization ever learns how to evaluate receivers, we're all in big trouble.

Kyler Murray's contract is for $30M in 2022, $38M in 2023, & $37M in 2024. There is a maximum of $2.85M available in preseason workout and game-day bonuses during that time period. $103.3M was guaranteed at signing. Basically it's $107.85M/3 years with a sensible framework for 3 years beyond that. It's an excellent contract.

I don't think Jackson is worth much more than that. I couldn't justify going beyond $125M/3 years, and I wouldn't be fully guaranteeing that 3 year total. Guarantees for year 4 and beyond shouldn't kick in until the end of year 2 at the earliest.

Kyler Murray is at least a rung below and doesn't win, but he did get 500K more than Watson. 5 years/$230.5M vs 5 years/$230M.
I was referring to the fact he got 70 million more guaranteed.

2 out of 4 years kyler was the better passer. We will see if he stops playing COD and gives a shit this year though.

I'd take Lamar over him

Murray is a great player, when he's healthy...and that's the problem. 7 of the 8 regular season games against the Rams have been with Murray on the injury list before the game. He has bad hamstrings.

I'd take Jackson over Murray, by $5M per year, tops.

They've built an infrastructure over decades that enables them to play any tier QB and be successful. The Bears need to find a way to steal whatever blueprint the Ravens have.

As far as the Ravens go, they were fine playing Kyler Boller and Joe Flacco for long periods of time. They can get away with this. Jackson should had been aware of his surroundings. If this was any other org., they would've been bent over backwards for him by now.

It was no difference between him and Huntley down the stretch. They can win with or without him. He wasn't present at the games, but surely he must've been watching. Not accusing the dude of being delusional, but...

They offered him 250 million dollars.

Dude balked at 133 mil guaranteed.

If he blows this it will be an all time fuckup from an athlete.

This is sort of where I am at..... I think they negotiated with him the best they could. The guy's insistence on not using an agent has made the process too difficult for both parties. This could have easily been done a long time ago.

I get what this comparison is trying to show, I really don’t think many people would put Lamar as a top 5 QB in the league. The reason I assume he gets so much attention is the occasional flashy plays he makes whereas Kirk is a run-of-the-mill pocket passer.

Which Mill? The league could use about 15 more Kirk Cousins.
