Better than being a Nebraska fan right now. Joining the BIG didn't even move the needle for them. Who knows if that program will ever recover.

I'm guessing that Nebraska has a tough time recruiting. I don't think the state produces much talent and they face so much recruiting competition from just their conference foes alone.

Now I'm wondering how they did it in the '90s when they were awesome. Maybe they had pipelines from bigger states back then.

Sorry osu and usc. The green wave is takin it to ucf and taking that 4th spot!!!
Last time Tulane was any good was when they had 4 straight former Gopher/UMn Coaches as their head coaches.

Quick, where did the current Tulane coach play his college ball? lol

I'm talking about N.D. football in the historical context. Special freddy thinks the Gophers are as elite as the Irish because of what his team did in the mid 1930's and early 1940's. And they won a national title in the early 60's.

I know he's listed a lot of great sports people from Minnesota, which honestly is an impressive list. However, before Freddy, I never heard anyone say that Gopher football had a tradition.

Don't worry, Wamu won't diss your team for it's Title drought, he only does that when it's a hockey fan claiming his hockey program is the greatest of all-time. lol

Never change special freddy, you're one of kind.

Nobody on this site over-pimps their team like you do.

That's because the Gophers window of greatness closed decades ago. They really have done next to nothing since the early 60's. Only two seasons with double digit wins since that decade.

Not hard to do when they are the #1 men's AND women's hockey programs OF ALL TIME!!!

And WERE the #1 football program of the 1st half of the 20th Century, at least, maybe the first 62 years?

And WERE the #1 Baseball program(tied with USC) for a 9 year period of time, 1956-1964.

And WERE the #1 Basketball program for the first 20 years of the 20th Century.

And ARE the #1 dance program OF ALL TIME.

And WERE the #1 Wrestling program in the nation for a full decade, 1998-2007.

And are one of the Top Ten Public Research Universities in the nation, as well.

Funny Minnesota Gophers football numbers. They have only won double digit games in a season 6x in 131 years.

1900: 10-0-2

1903: 14-0-1

1904: 13-0

1905: 10-1

2003: 10-3

2019: 11-2

Did you notice your team went from 1905 to 2003 without a 10-win season? And yet you still keep over-pimping them. Good for you.

Just a theory, but I think tv contracts. This was back when espn was nonexistent, and my family didn't even have cable, but Oklahoma and Nebraska were on tv more than any other team that I could remember. I was just a little kid so probably I'm wrong, but I don't remember CFB being aired like it is today. But I do remember seeing quite a bit of both of those teams playing and they were always highly ranked.

The USC loss last night solidified the 4. Today’s games are just for the seeding.

You need to post something legit backing up what you've claimed.

You talk some much nonsense and I don't believe any of those rankings.

willie fritz.. is he somehow tied to your Gophers? My innerweb searches didn't really produce any connections.

I can and will. But lets do this in an appropriate forum. It was funny for a few posts, but I'm sure everyone would rather get back to talking about the present.

No, lol. Would have been funny had he been. But he didn't even do a year as an assistant coach at UMn.

This is the appropriate forum.

So in other words you're completely full of shit again and can't produce anything legit to back up what you've hilariously claimed. Typical.

Ok......I just don't see the committee rewarding OSU by bumping them to 3, or punishing TCU for making their conference title game. Given how they try to avoid rematches as much as possible as well.....I think TCU just stays where they are. The resumes say they should too

Seems to me that Texas based teams have risen in the ranks since Nebraska's heyday.

Not A&M, but TT, TCU and Baylor all have had more success in the last 20-25 years than the previous 20-25, so they could be keeping a lot of Texas recruits in state that Nebraska was able to snag back in the day.
