Multiple people mentioning Michigan... lol.

Yeah, right?! I'd say both OSU and PSU in the East will own them for as long as Harbaugh is there, and bring in a new coach, thats always a toss up. And I believe UW has already shown they can beat them, and I'm guessing Fleck/UMn will, too. Even Iowa's recruiting has improved the last couple of years, so no way the 5th/6th best team in the B1G will make any decade Top Ten list. Top 20? Maybe.

LOL, apparently you missed the part where he got like a million dollar raise, which puts him comfortably in the Top 25.

Oh, that doesn't include how he garnered a $375,000 bonus for 2019, over and above his base salary.

You probably also missed the part where he just got the gift of a brand new 150+ million dollar Practice Facility/Student Village/Leadership Center to help him with recruiting.

He bought a house on Lake Minnetonka, got a boat, really likes it here in Minnesota, and more importantly, his wife LOVES IT here.

And fans are already talking about how they hope his contract is renegotiated next year, AGAIN.

Ooh..a million dollar raise and 375k...damn that's almost real money. That takes him up into the Fuente stratosphere. How could anybody turn that down...to go to a blue blood for 3 million more and a chance to start with a recruiting base better than what he has to work at in Minnesota. But I forgot, he bought a house and shit...my bad, you must be right.

What blue blood is going to offer him 7.5 mil or more a year, that is absolutely an upward move, who will be cool with him bringing his whole RTB culture schtick with him?
Also, they have to be a no pressure situation where he won't get fired in 2 or 3 years if he doesn't win enough?
Also, he's a midwestern guy who dreamed of coaching in the B1G. So now you are limited to 13 teams max, most of which are NOT an upward move from Minnesota.

So who? Who are these programs?

Harbaugh has done nothing to earn that belief he can make them a top 10 team consistently.

If Texas offered him a Million less he’d probably go.

Why?

Win at Texas, people will say to Fleck, "Texas made you".
Win at UMn, people will say to Fleck, "You made Minnesota".

Which would you prefer?

Remember, Fleck is a Midwestern boy who dreamed of coaching in the B1G.

Winning at Texas means winning NC’s.

Winning at MinnyU means beating Wisconsin and then losing by 40 to Ohia State.

It doesn’t matter one iota where someone like him is from. If he gets to another 11 win season and they still don’t play in the conference champ game, he’ll realize he will need to go somewhere else to reach the ultimate goal.

No he won't. When was the last time Texas didn't disappoint?

Iowa, NW & Wisconsin have all done better than Texas the last decade, and even Nebraska has the same # of Top 25's.

By the end of 2021, UMn could have Texas bested since 2010 as well.

TCU and A&M and Baylor and probably TT have all outperformed Texas over the last decade I'd bet, and that's not even mentioning Oklahoma.

And you said for a million less? lol Whatever idiot.

You are literally trying to say the potential of the Texas job isn’t better than the potential of the Minnesota job. You are absolutely delusional to think that. He would leave for a million less when he comes to realize he can only go so far at MinnyU.

??? Because Texas has won so many of them? lol

They've only won 1 Title in the last 50 years dude.

That’s the expectation of the fans.

Any legit MinnyU fan (besides you) doesn’t have that expectation because it’s been 60 years since you won your last.

An Texas is still a blue blood.

Yes, that is EXACTLY what I am saying.

and Bullsh1t. He would NOT, not in a million years, leave and go to Texas for a million less than he's making right now. You're an idiot. You have such an ignorant and antiquated and uneducated bias/view of Minnesota it's hilarious.

UMn was able to get some of the best baseball players to play there and helped win them 3 Natl Titles, and they even got good enough golfers to go there and won them a Natl Title in Golf for friggin sakes. GOLF, in Minnesota!!! The Golf program didn't just have one fluke season, they had the Individual Natl Champ a few years earlier than that, finished 3rd another year, and 7th another year and 10th as well. And the #1 Golfer in the whole world in 1996 was a former Gopher.

The #1 and #3 and #16 rated VB players in the nation all want to go to UMn.

UMn's produced the #1 overall pick in the NHL, WNBA and NBA drafts, that I remember. UMn's produced just shy of 50 NBA players. Seems to me top talent DOES go to UMn. They'll stay home or come here from all over, for a good coach. Fleck is a great coach.

UMn just opened up its brand new facilities, giving them some of the nicest facilities in the nation now.

No other P5 cfb program can offer student-athletes as much in the way of internships and connections to top notch businesses as UMn can.

Some recruits will want to go to school in some small college town, sure, and UMn doesn't want those kind of players. Why do most kids think small college towns are preferable? Because they have better party atmospheres maybe? Yeah, we don't want those people. Everyone has different tastes and preferences, but UMn is unique and offers those who want to go to school in a big city, the best P5 option in the country.

And UMn's got money. That won't be an issue. If the Admin becomes convinced they want to keep him around, and I believe they are quickly becoming convinced that they do, they'll be able to match any offer out there. And like I said, he likes it here, his wife LOVES it here, his kids love it here, he can become a legend here.

All you losers are fooling yourselves by convincing yourselves UMn can never win like they used to or like Texas did ONE year in 2005 and before that not since the 60s.

A blue blood who hasn't done much of anything in a decade.

And do you know any UMinn fans? I know hundreds of them. They have VERY high expectations of Fleck and of UMn fb going forward, as do the Gopher players.

No you are the blithering idiot saying the potential of MinnyU is better than the potential at Texas. An utter homer.

STOP CHANGING THE TOPIC TO ANOTHER SPORT, you uneducated imbecile. No one gives a fuck how many golf titles MinnyU has as it has nothing to do with the football team.

This topic isn’t about internships (did you really bring that up) and top notch business’ in Minnesota.

It’s that MinnyU isn’t a blue blood, is in a horrible area for recruiting football talent, the weather is shit and hasn’t been relevant in 60 years. No of which is a problem for Texas.

I don’t expect you to understand this because you are a blithering idiot, but it’s the truth.

Yes, a decade. Not 6 decades.

I know a few. None of them are are anything close to delusional as you.

I didn't say UMn was "better" than Texas. But you made the RETARDED comment that Fleck would leave UMn for Texas for ONE MILLION LESS.

And UMn doesn't have to be better than Texas. UMn's situation is unique, all it has to be is equal to Texas or even pretty close, especially if Texas is only going to offer 3.5 mil a year. lol

And it's not a horrible area for recruiting, not when we don't have to share it with a dozen or more other schools, and not when there is something called the internet. Fleck's already gotten several players to come to Minnesota who never even visited the school and/or never met Fleck in person. And the weather is only crappy during the winter, which just gives UMn students inspiration to concentrate on their studies. Maybe that is why they lead the B1G in academic accomplishments, eh?

And UMn's been relevant enough.

UMn got Lou Holtz to come. Then Glen Mason. And Mason always said he'd recruit better once UMn improved their Practice facilities, which ranked at or near the bottom of the Conf until Mason got there. Since then we built a new stadium and a New Practice Facility and a New Student Village and a New Leadership Center.

And YES, some players, DO CARE about sh1t like business internships and business connections and opportunities. Just because you are a stupid moronic neanderthal that is a fan of a loser school that can't even crack the Top 500 of the academic rankings, not everyone is a block head like you. SOME people care about life after football, the smart ones do.
