Colby playing through his injury says something about his toughness and about why his ERA wasn't better I think. On the other hand, I believe it also points out that he has a lot of trouble staying healthy.

looks like KC is getting hot at the right time

Perhaps we should slow down just a tad......seems just like yesterday that the Jays were behind 2-zip and it turned out just fine for em.

I think his inability to go deeper into games is going to hurt his market value. I certainly wouldn't want him for anywhere near that qualifying offer annual basis on a long term deal. I wouldn't even pursue him for a multi year deal.

By T.R. Sullivan / MLB.com | @Sullivan_Ranger | July 8th, 2015
ARLINGTON -- Rangers pitcher Yovani Gallardo's scoreless streak is over. Gallardo's streak came to an end in the top of the fifth inning Tuesday night, when the D-backs, taking advantage of a dropped fly ball, scored two runs off him on their way to a 4-2 victory over the Rangers.

The streak ended at 33 1/3 innings, the third-longest run in club history. Kenny Rogers had a 39-inning scoreless streak in 1995, and Charlie Hough had a 38-inning streak in 1983.

"I knew about it, but I wasn't thinking about it too much," Gallardo said. "I go out there every night trying not to give up runs. There is nothing I can do. It was fun, now it's a matter of starting up another one."

Gallardo entered the game 6-0 with a 0.79 ERA in nine previous games in which he had started after a Rangers loss. The Rangers were 8-1 in those games.

July 8th seems like so long ago, maybe the Dodgers remember this when they are paying. Yoga was hard to watch lots of games but his stats outperformed my expectations moving to the AL. He did have a decent year and Texas would not have been in the position they were at the end, without his contributions in the early part of the season

KC will likely not fold up the same way the Rangers did, their starting pitching should perform better, but you are right in anything can happen

I think we can all agree that Cubs/Royals is the ideal situation here.

Cubs would be my first choice in the NL, but either Cubs/Mets vs Royals WS is good by me

Keep the "loser" stigma off the Rangers another year.

You keep acting like the Cubs losing is the only thing preventing the Rangers from somehow being the losers of baseball. That is complete nonsense. The Indians have gone much longer than the Rangers without a World Series ring, so if anyone would be up next after the Cubs it would be them. Plus, neither the Astros nor the Mariners have ever won a title.

Mets fans are loudmouth assholes. They're just like Yankees fans, minus the arrogance. You really want ANY team from that cesspool New York to win? Cubs fans have suffered long enough.

I have no desire to root for teams to keep us from being the worst loser. I want a WS Champs banner to fly in Arlington

As long as Toronto doesn't win any more series I am fine with whoever wins the whole thing. Right now I might have a hard time rooting for the Jays against one of our division opponents next year. Just get the season over and start the Hot Stove season, that is, if we are going to be active in the Hot Stove season.

The Rangers' Connor Sadzeck has touched 101 MPH on the radar gun at the AFL this past week. Brinson is only 2 for 11, but he has 5 walks and 3 SB.

The fact that he's walking at a high rate is even more encouraging than if he'd gone 5/11 with 2 walks. We know the kid can hit, but can he be disciplined? That's what will make him a big leaguer.

He had his best walk per at bat ratio in his brief stint at AAA this year as he had 30 AB with 7 walks after only getting 6 walks in 110 AB in Frisco. The kid has done a whole lot of growing up the past few months.

He means he hates the Jays so much that next year he will actually root for Houston, Seattle, LA, and Oakland to beat them. And I'm right there with him.

Bautista is one of the biggest pieces of shit to play in quite some time, and Encarnacion and Donaldson are punks and roiders too. Plus their fans are as trashy as Oakland's. Eric Nadel even said that was the most out of control and downright dangerous crowd he's ever witnessed. That's saying A LOT.

Ah, that makes more sense.

perhaps but let's see him at AAA next season and see if this is him growing up or a anomaly

Well, the walks were certainly not the only sign that he is growing up. He showed a lot of growth whether the walks in AAA were an anomaly or not.

Some think he might even start out 2016 in AA.
