If baseball were like basketball in the way of sign and trades. I am not a fan of dealing Kelenic in nearly any scenario as of right now. That deal isn’t terrible for an off-season deal but they don’t put the Mariners over the hump to get in serious contention for a World Series.The kicker on this would be paying Buxton and Berrios since they are due for new deals. Polanco has a pretty affordable contract and you can slide him in at 2nd for few years.
I dont really value Trammel, Sheffield or Moore a ton at this point. I think you are looking at a 4th OF, a bullpen arm/swing starter and a pure utility guy respectively.
Obviously Kelenic is the key. His performance aside, I think unless you think Kelenic will be a superstar or you are nervous we wouldnt sign Berrios or Buxton then I think I take this deal tbh.
