He is smooth. And guys who have shown exceptional route running ability usually have a good career

I guess I have missed where people have crowned Lock as the next Messiah in here?

Optimistic? Sure- Nothing wrong with that.

One would have to work hard not to be optimistic when considering the youth, talent and SPEED of the Broncos current offense.

Hell of a nice window for this unit.

Legit concern, and I expressed the same thing a couple weeks ago.

I found this article interesting - and doesn’t try to make the case that because he was the 14th best QB by DVOA in the past 20 years, he is guaranteed to be “the Man”. But I do think it matched what I saw on the field. He surprised me with his presence and the fact he got passes off quickly are points of encouragement. He also appears to have the support and respect of his teammates.
Denver Broncos: Drew Lock was the best 2019 rookie quarterback by DVOA - Mile High Report

personally I give him a a 2-1 chance to be the answer for the next decade.

Yeah 2-1 sounds rigtn to me. I haven’t seen a QB like Lock’s ability since Cutler (non Manning ) And sounds like he has the locker room. D ware was saying something changed when Lock came in.

What the team did in Houston alone Last year should provide optimism

Hit the nail on the head, there is no excuses for this unit. What’s selling it for me is Lock’s drive and the chip on his shoulder to validate his presence. I haven’t felt this kind of special leadership and fire since Tebow. This kid could be inspirational with a boatload of talent to boot. Elway found his unicorn

Yep go listen to DWare interview on the Fan. He said the same thing. Drew is SWAG city and the team has bought in.

I'd say for this coming year, youth and inexperience will be a valid excuse. Lots of first and second year starters, and even thse who have some experience haven't played together as a well oiled machine.

It is not only Lock's 4-1 record as a starter, or his stark contrast with Flacco and Brandon Allen in avoiding sacks that makes people optimistic about Lock. These other factors are important:

1) Lock has swagger, but

The best thing Lock and this young offense have going for them is they are too new to realize this truth.

@Orange Crush77 had this perfectly correct - Lock has a chip on his shoulder - he is willing to put in the work - his teammates accept him as a leader and he has swagger. Not to mention he makes the game fun again.

I sure hope he is better than Jeff George.

That would be easy. He had talent but
his personalty was from hell. no one could put up with him .

He was a jerk Made Cutler look like a happy go lucky guy.
