The GM and owner have said they have money to spend. There are talented players still on the market, that have fallen into the discount category and into our price range. So why haven't we at least heard a rumor that we are talking with their agent, or the player themself?
Namely I am talking about Edwin Jackson. The guy is young enough that we could sign him to the 5 years he wants for about 55 million, well within the range he is worth, and still not hurt us in the long run.
I just think we should be out there doing something, especially with the prices for these players dropping to the range they seem to have dropped.
P.S. I STILL think we should make a legit run at Fielder, pitchers you can find every year, hitters, not so much.
