Word floating around New England radio yesterday is that Buffalo has asked to speak with Matt Patricia about replacing Rex Ryan and that the LOs Angeles Rams have asked to speak to Josh McDaniels about replacing Fischer. I'm pretty sure that a few other head coaches will be fired and those teams will be interested in trying to get the Patriots Coordinators......

I could see BB being able to absorb the loss of either, or even both in successive seasons. But both in one year may be too much.

If it does happen, does Bill throw a lifeline to Rex to take some pressure off?

Gus Bradley? Pees if Baltimore decides to change? Not sure on the OC side. Will need someone who can handle TB12 at this stage of his career. Let's hope Scar doesn't decide to retire again.

Why would he throw anything to Ryan?

I was thinking that Bill O'Brien might get canned at Houston and he could bring Romeo Crennell with Him.

I can't see either guy going to Buffalo or Rams...why would they want too. Both clubs have GM's that continue to make stupid mistake after stupid mistake...Won't fly....Look for them to join a club with an ex Patriot in the front office...Det and Tenn come to mind..

Not a head coach, but a proven SB winning DC. And Bill has history with the Ryans.
One of the Buffalo Bills defensive players has said that Rex's defensive schemes were to difficult for the defense to grasp. Bill Belichick only drafts smart players. Ok, mostly drafts smart players.
If Patricia leaves, It could actually work.
If Rex is muzzled.

well I guess if there is a team/coach who could actually muzzle Rex, it be BB

For OC, I think Brian Daboll would be the best in house candidate to replace Josh. BB likes to promote from within. As for DC, current D line coach Brendan Daly might be the best in house choice. As for outside candidates, I do think Ryan might be a sensible choice, but I am thinking Rob, not Rex. Rob Ryan was a former assistant with the Pats and I don't think he has any immediate appeal as a head coach.

Yeah, I just can't stand that hair.
I may be a tinge jealous, but even if I had that much hair I would keep it neat.

Hopefully we don't lose either. There are plenty of names being thrown around, some with HC expirence and other coordinators. Guys like Coughlin, Kyle Shanahan, Lynn, Marrone, Pat Shurmur, Sean Mcdermot and Todd Haley. A re Rex and Fisher really done as HCs I think so but who knows? Also mentioned but not likely, Jim Harbaugh, Pete Carroll, Darrel Bevell, Tyrel Austin, Jim Bob Cooter...

More and More, teams are moving towards younger smarter coaches. Recycling an old coach who lost somewhere else isn't what newer more savvy owners want.

If you're an owner, would you want Jeff Fisher? the guy hasn't had a winning season in 10 years. What would make you think anything would change? Would he change? Same for Rex Ryan. Two good years in New York and all of the fluster and bluster and no playoff appearances.

If I've got a couple of billion dollars invested in an NFL Franchise, I want it to be vibrant and attractive to my fans and I want to attract more fans. Bringing in the "Old Guard" to generate interest in young fans doesn't cut it. Especially very young fans........and their moms.

Jesus..please keep Rob Ryan as far from Foxboro as you can. His name is attached to some of the worse defenses historically.....anyone remember the Saints....

Not to cut the rest of your comment short, but this cuts at the heart of the matter. If BB has someone on his staff that he trusts he will promote them to fill any vacancies.

I heard last night that both Josh and Matt will be staying in Foxboro. It's believed that both would be strongly considered to replace BB. Supposedly, Patricia has a bit more backing. Josh's tenure in Denver didn't shine his star.

I'm thinking Josh goes, Patricia stays.
Is it possible BB has told the staff his retirement plans? Can't see him doing that.....

Would not shock me at all to see Chip Kelly in NE in some type of role like Greg Schiano had...Might be a good way to repair his image...Or he ends up back in CFB...
