The real question is how far does Notre Dame drop in the polls after the loss? It shouldn't be far but who knows.

I smell a screw job. Herbstreit was doing some decent lobbying, but I don't trust the polls. Even if we win out, I don't think we get in the top 4.

I assume they drop Baylor further down than Notre Dame while leaping Auburn, Bama, and possibly Oregon/MSU over us.

Still top 10 but probably between 7-9 range IMO

well we knew it was going to be bad news if the ACC crew was calling the game.

100% in top 4 if we win out and FSU wins out.

The ref made the right call. Bitching about the refs make us look like sore losers. The correct call was made. You should be more mad at the WR because he doesn't know how to correctly run a rub route

This was the same ACC crew that took Tuitt out of the Pittsburg game last year for targeting. Probably just a coincidence that these guys seem to show up when a key penalty affects a game.

It wasn't the correct call. It was a questionable call. It should of been a non call. U have the DB holding our WR and bringing him to the ground. Kelly said he did everything right. I trust Kelly over you. Its ok to be wrong. In this case you are 100% wrong. Its with in 5 yards u are allowed to do that, Defender is not allowed to grab.

Im ok with the loss because 11-1 and we are in. Just sucks that a great game like that(one of the best so far this year), got screwed up by a call by the refs. Instead of talking about the game everyone is talking about the bad call.

Here are some recruit reactions.

B Nicco Fertitta - commit
"[The penalty] shouldn't have been called. Irish won in my book. Thought we looked incredible all night."
DB Ashton White - commit
"Feel like we got robbed. The refs just need to let football players play football."
WR Jalen Guyton - commit
"That was a terrible call. Oh well. I guess they couldn't have their baby Jameis [Winston] losing like that. He'll get suspended now after the game. Watch. They just didn't want FSU losing to ND."
PK Justin Yoon - commit
"Honestly, that was an amazing game. I'm speechless and I have nothing much to say. Hard loss. A little frustrated with the refs call, but can't do anything about it."

Yes I know that, when I saw that I knew they would screw us.

I maintain that even if a technically correct call, the defenders were purposefully jammimg Fuller and Procise, not trying to make a play on Robinson. They should have lost the benefit of the doubt as soon as he locked up Procise at the LOS. And, again, since they wouldn't have gotten to him anyway, it was a chicken shit call.

That is what Im talking about. People forget football rules when they are haters. CB were playing up at the WR and with in 5 years the WR has the right to jam and try and get free. Kelly stated that it was run right. If the CB give you space the the 1 WR runs a slant, one goes to the goal line and the other at the corner of the Endzone.

It should of been a non call. To end a great game like that on a bullshit call is pathetic. Instead of talking about the great game we are talking about a bad call.

Dude the guy was blocking him in the endzone. You don't block someone like an offensive tackle if you're trying to get off press coverage. He had no intentions of getting off the press coverage to run his route. He acted like he was an offensive lineman on the play. The DB had the right to jam him there within 5 yards but there is a right and wrong way to get off press coverage....Acting like you're an offensive tackle in pass blocking isn't the right way

The rub play will never work if the WR doesn't look like he's running a route or looking for the ball. The WR did neither.

It was the right call.....Stop bitching and move on.

This game was lost in the first half if you ask me

Had Robinson been 2 yards further back, it would have been a screen pass, and then you could have blocked everyone as much as you wanted.

how was it lost in the 1st half. We were winning at half time.

That stupid 4th down call on our own side of the field which handed FSU a free 3 points and also our final drive of the half. If we score 7 there instead of 3, we are up 2 scores at 21-10 instead of 17-10

I agree with you on that 4th down call but overall they played a good 1st half and had the lead. It was the Defense in the 2nd half that helped us lose this game.
