It's summertime so when you feel like it post here what you are having for dinner and sometimes a recipe or two.

Always looking for new dinner entrees from across the country.

I don't bake potatoes often in the summer so I don't heat up the kitchen more than necessary. But tonight since I'm going to grill steaks, decided to bake potatoes on the grill. (Chris' twice baked potatoes sounded better though!) I've also grilled asparagus a few times this summer and they turn out great just brushing on a little olive oil and seasoning, so I'll do that. I'll marinate some mushrooms in butter and brandy to serve with the steaks.

A Pinot Noir to go along with that. And we'll sit outside and be humored by the hummingbirds buzzing around.

wow, that is ironic - I just saw this post, and earlier tonight I had the best salmon that I ever had .. I bought it from an independent health food store that has a deli-type section - the chef there just put out some poached salmon with tomatoes - I added the asparagus .... It was incredible

In the Texas summer - you either BBQ - or you have simple - basic finger foods like fruit, crackers - cut up meats and cheeses. If you turn on your ovens - you are insane.

Are you making these? What kind of cheese do you use? Add anything like salsa, chicken, pork?

Shredded sharp cheddar. Yes, I make them. No salsa, chicken or pork. I am very simple and picky when it comes to eating.

When I order a quesadilla from a restaurant I often add chicken though.

I don't get the logic of BBQ, no oven. Outside with a 200+ degree grill or smoker is acceptable but inside AC with an oven is not.

I guess it is the love of BBQ. Give me a good brisket or pulled anything over just about any other food.
