Let's change my chances of staying from 75/25 to 65/35...

Sorry Brian, if you are reading this. I know you are a percentage guy, but I know no other way to say. Take this back to your board if you want as well.

A "fuck you" to Swofford and the tobacco road cabal...

Most if the fans that I run into think that the ACC expansion to 14 has done nothing but watered down an already watered down football conference and maze the road to the NCAA tourney much harder. They want out. There is very lite love for the ACC amongst the Hokie faithful. Some people had concern about the acDemic reputation if we left forthe SEC, but that is not a concern at all with the B1G.

Is it realistic to expect VT fans to travel to Big 10 games? Just seems terrible for them.

Realistic???? We travel to fucking Boston to play that horrific team. I am sure we can fill our fair share of away sections in the midwest. Ask Texas A&M or Nebraska how we travel.

I never said VT doesn't travel.

But why would you want to make it more expensive for your fans to travel..... every single week?

During college (recent graduate) I traveled to:

UNC x2
Dook x2
Wake
Clemson
Boston for BC
Jacksonville x2 for ACC Champ and Gator Bowl
Atlanta x2 for Bama and Chick fil a Bowl
Miami for Orange Bowl
Baton Rouge for LSU
UVA x2
Merryland
Nebraska

and that was when I was poor..

you could pretty much reserve a seat for me any time we're at Ohio State or Nebraska and I would probably travel to each venue at least once just to experience them all.

Because it means millions more for the program... We churn out 28K alumni a year. Plenty to fill seats on a rotating basis throughout the season. Bball away attendance might suffer... But... Who cares.

Clemson, VT, and FSU are just about the only teams that travel well (and consistently) in the ACC. Shit, I even went to effing Boise State to watch us play in the Humanitarian Bowl in 2001...

I'm active duty in the Marine Corps (in other words, also poor) and am technically not even allowed to go far enough away from base on weekends to make it to GT games... but I only missed 3 of them last year.

That doesn't change anything about forcing VT fans to shell out more cash to travel such greater distances.

VT fans find a way to travel. The students will be eating Ramen for a month but they would make it to the night game at Wisconsin.

You have to admit though, the tag itself is rather creative. What kills me is how many SCar fans I see with tags "highlighting" their recent back-to-back wins over us... pretty sad that they'd rather have that permanently attached instead of their back-to-back baseball championships.

I will wreck that mfer.

My bad, couldn't resist. Traveling to Boise is definitely dedication. Where do you fly into? Oregon? Then drive over? Or do you need to charter your own plane or hire some local crop duster to take you the rest of the way?
