Dave is one of those singers that I don't mind as long as I dont have to see him. He reminds me too much of a belemic Bette MidlerI’m sure I’ll be in the minority here, but I lean toward Sammy.
Was never a huge VH fan though, so maybe that’s why.
Dave was probably a better front man, but Sammy is clearly the better singer.

Saw them both live and both put on great shows.
I agree, Hagar softened their sound with songs about love while Roth exuded a harder edge.I saw them with Sammy and it was a pretty good show, but I gotta say I prefer David Lee Roth for the same reasons a few others have already stated. The early VH was bitching R&R and Sammy gets a bit too mushy and popish.
