If you REALLY think you guys are going to get a 2010 Utley return for 2015 Utley production, you are sadly mistaken. He cleared waivers, which means not ONE team wants him at face value. So to go from giving him away to asking for Crick, who until recently was one of our top prospects seems to be quite a stretch.

You're gross.

i always love when fans try to dog a player, but completely ignore the fact it's HIS team that wants him and is trying to get him. i guess it's just because they are bored. a healthy utley is a big score for a possible playoff team.

as for clearing waivers, no one is looking to pay his entire remaining salary, especially after coming off an injury. several teams are interested. they were before he even came off the DL. so don't kid yourself thinking the return is a bag of balls.

crick himself has been reduced to the pen, where he's walked a whopping 61 batters in 56.2 innings. don't act like he's just having a bad month. his "hot shit" status has been gone for a couple years now and he's reduced to more so of a project. he's exactly the type of player a team like san fran would dump if the phils give up utley, most of the cash and maybe a mlb ready type reliever.

Utley 4-5 last night. He's back, baby! I think we'd have to be looking at 2 top 5 prospects just to start the discussions

Utley appears to have changed his batting techniques since his convalescence and it has made a difference. I am not sure SF is going to give up much of anything if they snow the hell out of braindead and the FO and then have them cough up Utley for a list of useless dogshit players as pretty much what he did with Hamels.

I think that Amaro will get the best of any deal in the works. He will offer to pay all of Utleys remaining salary plus pay the 2 million buy out money for next season. He will toss in a minor league prospect as well. In return the Phillies will get a player that is on the DL and is out for the year, along with a pitcher who has an era around 6.25.
The Phillies will also send along an extra 10 million dollars just because we can! Amaro will then gloat when he
announces this trade!

Yep. That is what I was thinking Northeast. Next up. Lardass. No wait. The FO and braindead have a stiffy for that dolt because his average is up just enough for the FO to take some more viagra!

Homerun, Chase Bleeping Utley! We're gonna need Posey and two prospects in the mix before we even start talking to them about Utley

hard to believe (well, not really) there are still dummies here trying to blast the "front office." not that it means anything coming from a single opinion, but jim callis just listed the phils farm as now 7th best in baseball. they currently have 6 top 100 players, although nola will be gone soon, if he's not already. if they're lucky they might be able to add a fringe 100 player for utley, and then they'll have a top pick in the draft. it's also possible knapp can find his way onto the list next year.

Certain individuals who consider themselves more intelligent and more baseball informed than the rest of us has the temerity to suggest that somehow the Phillies FO is not responsible for these boneheaded transactions they have been doing. That assertion alone is significant evidence to indicate that someone's assessment of their own baseball acumen raises questions about the authenticity of such a claim in light of the stupid and ridiculous dumb self-assessment to the contrary. Who is in charge then? A phantom owner? Gillick, Amaro? The rhetorical question and optional answers are moot in light of the fact that everyone knows that in every other baseball club the FO is in charge of ALL transactions. I guess this individual thinks the Phillies are different. Seriously, genius? Just the opposite according to that assertion. What a joke!

the "front office" was responsible for building a great farm that led into the early 2000's.

the "front office" was responsible for finding breakout players like victorino and werth to pair with the farm.

the "front office" was responsible for fielding a team with at least 80+ wins for a decade.. which included a championship, 2 NL pennants and 5 division titles.

the "front office" was responsible for building a team with the most wins in phils history.

the "front office" was responsible for building a rotation that was one of the best ever.

the "front office" was responsible for adding unlimited payroll.

the "front office" was then guilty of their only BIG mistake, delaying a rebuild.

now..

the "front office" has quickly turned the phils farm into one of the better ones in baseball.

the "front office" has hired a respectable face to handle it all.

the "front office" is willing to spend any amount of money to win and get back to the top.

the "retroram52" cluelessly rants on about every single move, when the huge majority of it has been positive and is sending the phils in the right direction, quickly at that.

tell us oh wise one, how the "front office" is braindead for not rebuilding, but are equally as braindead for rebuilding. tell us how they should be trading so and so, only so you can call them braindead again when they receive a haul of top 100 players in return. tell us how they just sign trash, but completely ignore players like herrera or anyone who does well.

na, don't bother. what you know about baseball is anyone's guess. what you actually show is nothing much. nothing much at all.

Typical. My comments that you disparage are based solely on the recent tenure of one Rueben Amaro but Mr genuius has to go back in significant time to prove his agenda. You have no frikin' clue to what I know. You are product of an over-exaggerated opinion of yourself and that will never change. You pick and choose to fulfil your agenda and disregard any mention of anything else even if I do provide evidence you claim I don't because I have already provided information and you disregarded it. You don't take responsibility for any of your disparaging comments but choose to have selective amnesia when challenged. To convince you that you are too full of yourself to enjoy these boards rather than make them a battle ground which you started is a completely useless activity. You are a colossal blowhard. You can live in your fantasy world any time you want but anything you post will be taken as a complete joke.

it's extremely simple. i've casually read these forums for the last couple of years. you've contributed nothing. all you do is mutter the words "braindead" or "front office stupid" like a caveman. it was boring and played out even during that small stretch when things looked like shit.

now that you keep doing it, it's basically down to just two choices. either you're the braindead one when it comes to baseball, or you're playing out a painful, yawning shtick. whatever the case, you're just wasting space. but then again, that's the problem with people such as yourself. you're on a baseball forum, and you just refuse to give up your rambling nonsense and keep things on a legit baseball level. 5 years from now, you'll still be going "duh, braindead, duh, bad, duh, duh, stuff, duh, front office."
